Group Sales Representative

 

Job Description

  • Works closely with the Director of Group Sales
  • Sell groups, corporate packages through relationship building
  • Identify and generate new sales opportunities, including following up on inbound leads, prospecting cold calls, and contacting companies and individuals
  • Maintain group renewals
  • Prospecting and developing new client relationships
  • Day-to-day customer support
  • Meet and exceed all weekly and end of year sales goals
  • Assist with setup of hospitality areas in Harbor Park
  • Assist in the supervision of the hospitality areas in Harbor Park
  • Accurately track and provide regular reports detailing sales activities, pipeline status
  • Represent the Norfolk Tides in a positive and professional manner at all times

 

Qualifications

  • Must work all Norfolk Tides home games
  • Must be ability to handle stress and time management in a fast paced environment
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Must be detailed oriented, strong communications skills, teamwork, and enthusiasm
  • Must have customer service experience
  • Ability to multitask, organized, and focus on customer service
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Bachelor Degree required or graduating in December of 2016

Stadium Operations Intern

 

Job Description

Season long paid internship for the Triple-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles (Feb-September). The Tides are looking for energetic, ambitious individuals willing to learn and work hard. Interns will be given the opportunity to handle stadium operations during the season. Interns will be required to work all 71 Tides home games.

Experience Required

Individuals must be available to work the entire season, have reliable transportation and be proficient in basic computer programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook. Internship requires certain physical requirements. Must be available from February - September. Do not apply if you are not available during those months. 

Salary

  • $1,000 per month

Box Office Intern

 

Job Description

  • Full Season Internship with the Norfolk Tides, the Triple-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles
  • Intern will be required to work from February through Labor Day
  • Work all 71 home games as well as outside events 
  • Provide superior customer service through daily box office ticket sales 
  • Assist in the completion of processing, printing and mailing season and group tickets
  • Administrative duties including filing, sorting, stuffing and mailing 
  • Maintain existing database of season ticket and advertising contacts 
  • Assist in supervision, scheduling and training of game day staff
  • Create and update daily ticket reports 
  • Phone sales  
  • Other game day responsibilities as required

Qualifications

  • Microsoft Office product knowledge 
  • Ticketmaster experience is helpful 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills 
  • Prior customer service experience preferred

Groundscrew Intern

 

Job Description

Season long paid internship for the Triple-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles (March-September). The Tides are looking for energetic, ambitious individuals willing to learn and work hard. Responsibilities include the following: Bullpen maintenance, general field maintenance, mowing, tarp, batting practice set up. Intern expected to work all 71 Tides home games as well as any other non-baseball events on the field. Other responsibilities as required.

Experience Required

Previous Baseball grounds keeping experience (2+ years) or turf management degree preferred.
