Rainiers in the Community

Educational Programs

The Rainiers are teaming up with Communities in Schools to promote the importance of staying in school and staying focused. BIGs stands for 'Believe in Goals' and is being implemented in the Tacoma Public Schools. An awards banquet is held at Cheney Stadium every year to honor the students who have taken steps to achieve their goals.

Public Appearances
Rhubarb Appearances

Looking for a little excitement in your next school assembly, birthday party or office meeting? Rhubarb can handle that! Nothing draws attention quite like a 7-foot reindeer. He keeps busy all year round making appearances at fairs, expos, school functions, charity walks and all sorts of fun activities.

Player Appearances

The Rainiers understand the importance of giving back. Players have made their way into the community by speaking at school assemblies about motivation, working hard and staying in school. They have also had some fun at the local Boys and Girls Clubs playing games with the kids and visiting Mary Bridge Children's Hospital to lift the spirits of kids and families who are in the hospital.

Speaking Engagements

Are you planning a special event or meeting and looking for someone new and exciting to be a guest speaker at no cost? Well guess what, the Rainiers have just the person. The Tacoma Rainiers are spreading the word about exciting new things happening with Rainiers baseball. Learn about Cheney Stadium, the Rainiers team, careers in sports and even Rhubarb. Our staff is available to speak at your civic organizations, chamber meetings, schools, career fairs or special events. Speeches and presentations can even be customized to meet your group's needs.

Giving Back

The Rainiers donate hundreds of tickets every year to local nonprofits and organizations. From auctions to galas, the Rainiers will continue to support the hard work of local fundraisers through tickets and Rainiers memorabilia. Please email to inquire about a donation request.

Golf Tournament

Last year, the Tacoma Rainiers helped raise funding for the NICU at the St. Joseph Medical Center. Make plans to join Rainiers players, coaches and front office staff when the team hits the links again in 2016. Stay tuned for announcements regarding the date and location of this year's tournament.

Jersey Auctions

Want to purchase a jersey right off the back of your favorite Rainiers player? You can! Each year the Rainiers don specialty jerseys on various nights to help raise funds and awareness for non-profit organizations. Check out the Rainiers schedule for all specialty nights.

Volunteer Opportunities

Year round, front office employees donate their time by volunteering on community boards and once-a-month volunteer opportunities. Members of the front office have volunteered at the local YWCA, Mary Bridge Children's Hospital, charity walks and more!

Ticket Programs
Kids Night Out

The Tacoma Rainiers partner up with local businesses and season ticket holders to donate tickets to organizations who work with kids and families who might not be able to afford a ticket to a Rainiers game. Each kid receives a ticket to a game, a meal at the ballpark and a souvenir. To donate to Kids Night Out, please contact Shane Santman at (253) 752-7707 or

Red, White and Blue Program

To honor those in our Military, the Rainiers created a Red, White and Blue ticket program. Each year tickets are donated to each branch of the military, and received by active duty service members and their families. To donate to this cause or to inquire about receiving tickets, please call the Rainiers front office at (253) 752-7707.
