Steve Selby

Steve Selby has been with the Redbirds since 2000 joining the Redbird telecasts on a full-time basis in 2002. He broke into baseball in 1986 with Kinston of the Carolina League and brings 21 years of professional baseball experience to the Redbirds booth. The teams he has covered include the Durham Bulls from 1987-1990, the Huntsville Stars from 1992-1995, and most recently the Nashville Sounds from 1996-1999. While with the Stars, he received the Southern League's Broadcaster of the Year award in 1994.

Selby spent four seasons as the radio play-by-play voice for Belmont University men's basketball. His other work in Nashville includes serving as television voice for Vanderbilt University football and basketball in 1998 as well as broadcasting college football and basketball for Fox Sports South. He has also broadcast the Clinic Bowl and TSSAA State Basketball Championships and the NAIA National Football Championship game.

Selby and his wife, Rhonda, live in Bartlett with their son, Preston, and daughter, Shannon.
