The Visalia Rawhide professional baseball team is the most affordable family entertainment option in Tulare and Kings Counties. The Rawhide are embarking on a new era in Visalia Baseball, with more renovations to Rawhide Ballpark and a renewed affiliation with the Major League club.

The Rawhide are proud to be the Advanced-A, California League affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Rawhide and the Diamondbacks signed a new, four year Player Development Contract (PDC) in June of the 2012 season that covers the 2013-2016 baseball seasons. The Rawhide and the city of Visalia are doing everything necessary to ensure a long, productive relationship with the proud Diamondbacks franchise.

The Rawhide sit right in the middle of the D'Backs system, one of the most talented in all of baseball. There are three teams more advanced, and three lower levels. Just below the Major League level are the AAA Pacific Coast League affiliate, Reno Aces. The Diamondbacks will keep their Spring Training facility in Tucson, however the old AAA Tucson Sidewinders are no more. Below the Aces are the AA-Mobile Bay Bears, one level above Visalia. Immediately below the Rawhide are the Low-A South Bend Silverhawks of the Midwest League, the Short Season-A Hillsboro Hops (Northwest League), and the first step for most professional ballplayers, the Rookie Level Missoula Osprey (Pioneer League).

The Rawhide play 140 games against their California League rivals, a group that stretches from Stockton and San Jose in the north to Lake Elsinore and Inland Empire in the south. The Rawhide play in the Northern Division along with the Stockton Ports (OAK), San Jose Giants (SF), Modesto Nuts (COL) and the Bakersfield Blaze (CIN).

All of the players on the Rawhide and the other Arizona affiliates are under contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks. It is the Diamondbacks who supply the coaches and instruction for their affiliates as they try to mold their prospects into successful big-leaguers. The Rawhide do not control player movement within the organization, so it is important to come to the park early and often to see the brightest stars of tomorrow, today!
