The mission of Captains Charities, Inc. is to provide charitable support to community organizations that reflect the values and vision of Captains Charities, Inc. Captains Charities, Inc. will lead, organize, and operate fund-raising and development initiatives to generate financial support to realize its charitable and community Mission.

Vision

The Vision of Captains Charities, Inc. is the development of a broadly supported and actively involved charitable organization devoted to enhancing the quality of life for children, the disabled, the elderly and retired residents in our communities. Our Vision is realized through the provision of charitable financial support and leadership to community organizations that serve these populations and share our commitment to enhancing the quality of life in the communities we serve. In recognition of our association with the sport of baseball and the Lake County Captains, our Vision encompasses our special commitment to the development of youth baseball and softball programs in the community to help these programs realize their goals.

Grant requests are reviewed by the Captains Charities Board quarterly and deserving grants are paid out after each board meeting.

Captains Charities Golf Outing

The inaugural golf outing was held in July of 2010 at Little Mountain Country Club in Concord, Ohio. Over 72 golfers took part in the event including several Captains players and coaches! The 2017 event will be held at Black Brook Golf Course in Mentor, Ohio on Friday, August 25 at 10 a.m.

Captains Grand Slam 5K

As part of the 2017 Lake Health Running Series, the Captains Grand Slam 5K course begins at Classic Park, winds through the City of Eastlake and finishes on the field behind home plate. The Captains Grand Slam 5K will be held on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. Click here to register in advance. Registration on the day of the race begins at 8:00 a.m.

The News-Herald Captains Charities High School Baseball Classic

The Captains host the Eleventh Annual News-Herald Captains Charities High School Baseball Classic on Friday, April 22 and Saturday, April 23. Ticket proceeds from the event are shared between the eight participating schools and Captains Charities. 


Jersey Auctions

Captains Charities is proud to offer three themed jersey auctions every season. Jerseys are game worn and sold by silent auction during each theme night game for which they are worn. Visit the Captains Promotional Schedule for more information. 


Captains Charities Mike's Suicide Awareness & Food Emergency Fund [S.A.F.E.]

Mission Statement

The mission of Mike's S.A.F.E. Fund (a part of the Captains Charities, Inc.) is to provide charitable support to and within the NorthEast Ohio community organizations that reflect the values and vision of Captains Charities, Inc. Mike's S.A.F.E. Fund will lead, organize, and operate fund-raising and development initiatives to generate financial support to realize it's charitable and community Mission.
