Reading Program

Captains Reading Program

Captains Reading Program The Captains are excited to provide elementary and middle school teachers and students the opportunity to become part of our 2017 Reading Program. The Captains Reading Program encourages literacy and reading comprehension inside and outside the classroom for traditional and non-traditional pre-K-8 schools.

The Captains Reading Program is incentive-based and aspires to help students discover the joy and rewards of reading. Teachers are encouraged to decorate their classrooms and bulletin boards with baseball themes that will encourage students to participate in the Captains Reading Program. Receiving prizes at each base, students work to reach their reading goals set forth by their individual educators. Upon completion of the program, students and teachers are rewarded with a complimentary ticket to a Lake County Captains home game.

Educators interested in participating in the 2017 Captains Reading Program can contact Jen Yorko at 440.975-8085 x 116. Click here for a printable enrollment form.
