Ticket Director / Box Office Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Timber Rattlers are looking for a Ticket Director or Box Office Manager, which will be determined based on each individual applicants experience. Both positions will oversee the game day ticket operations in the ticket office. This person will be responsible for and manage the ticket database system and keep records current and accurate. This person will also schedule and manage ticket sellers and ticket takers. The Ticket Director will also be involved with all ticket operations including the Group Sales Department.

Ticket sales duties consist of developing inside and outside sales possibilities and following through with ticket orders to ensure fan satisfaction. This begins with contacting new ticket sales clients to develop interest for the upcoming season with regards to season tickets and ticket packages.

Responsibilities will also include assisting other departments when requested or needed. All job tasks should be performed in compliance with the philosophy, policies, goals, and budget of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers / Appleton Baseball Club.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Understand and effectively meet or exceed individual and team ticket goals by prospecting for new inside/outside sales accounts through cold calls and telemarketing.
  • Develop new season ticket customers and maintain a positive relationship with current ticket holders including answering questions, troubleshooting, taking and following through on orders, delivering tickets, and arranging for invoicing.
  • Promote and sell all types of inventory to clients, providing suggestions for new items.
  • Develop and enhance positive relationships with clients through a high level of contact in social settings or by taking full advantage of other relationship building or entertainment opportunities.
  • Effectively monitor client's satisfaction with follow-up contact throughout the season.
  • Meet and greet season ticket, ticket package, and individual ticket holders during ballgames.
  • Operate ticket database and keep records current and accurate.
  • Place season ticket and ticket package seats as sold in the Glitnir Ticket system.
  • Close out and balance the ticket department after each game.
  • Oversee game day ticket sellers and ticket takers.

 

ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS:
The ticket director/box office manager works all hours the office is open and/or until tasks have been completed. Will need to work all games and special events including any evenings, weekends, or holidays.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Relevant experience in minor league baseball and/or ticket sales. Bachelor's degree. Friendly, organized, personable and the desire to grow and succeed in the Timber Rattlers organization.

COMPENSATION:
Salary and commission mix. Starting salary will be dependent on past experience.

The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers insurance package covers 100% of medical and dental premiums for single coverage and 80% for family. Medical coverage begins 60 days from the 1st of your starting month.

The Timber Rattlers retirement plan is available to all full-time staff members who choose to participate. The team matches up to 3% of your pre-tax contribution.

Paid time off (vacation) begins with 13 days for an entire fiscal year. PTO is accrued four (4) hours every payroll. The office is closed all holidays when the facility is not in use. For each weekend date worked, a "comp day" is acquired. The first "comp day" is to be used the following week when no events are planned. The second "comp day" is banked and can be used any time the remainder of the year.

The team currently has a membership at a local health club (YMCA), which would be available to you at no cost.

Manager of Banquets & Events

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Manager of Banquets and Events is a professional who will sell, organize and manage banquets for clients in the Fox Club at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium. The logistics and execution of the events fall upon the Manager of Banquets and Events and the food and beverage team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The Manager of Banquets and Events will work in conjunction with the Wedding Sales and Events Manager to oversee all aspects of a banquet or event, including booking, menu selection, staffing, etc. In addition, this manager will be responsible for hiring, training, coaching and scheduling banquet staff.Responsibilities will also include assisting other departments when requested or needed. All job tasks should be performed in compliance with the philosophy, policies, goals, and budget of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers/Appleton Baseball Club.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Manager of Banquets and Events will work with clients interested in holding non-baseball events/banquets at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium and this will include the following;

  • Calling potential clients
  • Providing tours of the facility
  • Creating event proposals
  • Coordinating banquets to meet and exceed client's needs and this will involve the following;
    • Coordinating a banquet staff of 20-25 staff members
    • Coordinating entertainment and/or required audio/visual equipment needs
    • Ensuring the satisfaction of clients by providing superior customer service

QUALIFICATIONS: Preferred candidates will have an associate's or bachelor's degree in food service or hospitality management, or a related discipline and 3-5 years of previous banquet experience.

WORK ENVIROMENT & EQUIPMENT NEEDED: The Manager of Banquets and Events will be a part of the full-time staff and, more specifically, a part of the food and beverage team. The food and beverage team consists of the Director of Food and Beverage, Assistant Director of Food and Beverage, Manager of Banquets and Events, Wedding Sales and Event Manager, Executive Chef, and Sous Chef.

The Manager of Banquets and Events' main duties revolve around non-baseball events and, even though it might be asked from time-to-time, the Manager of Banquets and Events is not required to work or be present for Timber Rattlers baseball games or other baseball special events.
The Manager of Banquets and Events will have office space and a computer equipped with:

  • Outlook; the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers e-mail center
  • CRM; the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers database program
  • Caterease
  • Vizio
  • Internet Explorer
  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Excel
  • A link to a company folder with public files and documents

ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENT: The Manager of Banquets and Events may often work 10-12 hours a day, often working 50 hours a week. In addition, this person will be expected to be available on nights, weekends and holidays, when many banquets and events take place.
