Graphic Designer

The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers are seeking a graphic designer with expertise in creating outstanding work across many platforms including, print, web, social media & promotional items. The Graphic Designer reports to and works closely with the Creative Director & Marketing team in conceptual development of all visual elements incorporated by the Timber Rattlers. The ideal candidate is highly creative and dedicated to producing standout work.


  • Designs and produces brand-compliant marketing materials including; print, web and digital media, as well as stadium displays and signage.
  • Edits, maintains and publishes digital assets for the team's web site.
  • Works as part of the creative team to establish the brand vision and design strategy for multiple projects.
  • Understands the fundamentals of photography and operation of DSLR cameras.
    • Shoot digital photos as needed for comprehensive organizational use: fans, game action, player action shots, special events, etc.
    • Prepare photos for use (editing, color correction, formatting, etc.).
    • Appropriately classify, organize and archive photos on an ongoing basis.
  • Willing to take direction and feedback willingly.
  • Works directly with print and promotional vendors to submit artwork and guide the proofing process.

  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite for Mac OS-X, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat and Bridge.
  • 2-4 years experience as a designer/developer within a similar role and/or industry.
  • Strong skills in creative strategic thinking and execution. Superior typographic sensibility. Knowledgeable with current color, style and design trends.
  • Experience with HTML & CSS
  • Ability to organize, prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to develop motion graphics and animations is a plus.

Seasonal/Internship Positions

Ticket Sales Representative

The Ticket Sales Representative will assist the Director of Tickets with prospecting and contacting new ticket sales clients to confirm or develop interest for the upcoming season with regards to season tickets, ticket packages, group outings, or suite nights. The Ticket Sales Representative will also help manage ticket information in the Glitnir ticketing system and keep records current and accurate using Microsoft CRM. Responsibilities will also include assisting other departments when requested or needed. All job tasks should be performed in compliance with the philosophy, policies, goals, and budget of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers / Appleton Baseball Club.

Other duties of the Ticket Sales Representative will consist of handling incoming ticket calls, providing customer service to current and potential ticket package holders, and maintaining ticket window and will-call operations for the duration of the season. This position is a full time seasonal position running from January through September.

  • Understand and effectively meet or exceed individual and team ticket goals by prospecting for new inside/outside sales accounts through cold calls and telemarketing.
  • Develop new season ticket customers and maintain a positive relationship with current ticket holders including answering questions, troubleshooting, taking and following through on orders, delivering tickets, and arranging for invoicing.
  • Operate Glitnir ticketing software and Microsoft CRM to keep records current and accurate.
  • Assist with mailing of ticket sales materials.
  • Data entry and running ticket/demographic reports.
  • Promote and sell all types of inventory to clients, providing suggestions for new items.
  • Assist in scheduling ticket office employees.

Other duties would include assisting the front office staff with other tasks as they arise along with assisting with the game day staff development. Representatives will have an opportunity to shadow and learn about other departments as well.

Can be used for college credit if needed.

Grounds Intern

Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium is the home of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. The stadium is the host to 70 Timber Rattlers Games, Division III College World Series, Wisconsin State Baseball Tournament, numerous high school games and several other events.

This is a full time seasonal position. Exact dates are flexible depending on school schedule. Duties include but are not limited to; preparing the infield skin, mound, plate, and bullpens, assisting in tarp pulls, setting up and tearing down batting practice, pre-game field preparation, as well as all aspects of turf maintenance including: edging, sodding, fertilizing, aerating, mowing in patterns, and irrigation repair and maintenance.

Candidates must have an interest in sports field maintenance. Enrolled in or recent Graduation from a two or four year turf grass, agronomy, horticulture, or soil science program is preferred, but not required. Baseball field maintenance experience at any level is preferred, but not required. Individuals must be able to:

  • Work long hours.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of time.
  • Work in various weather conditions.
  • Highly motivated, willing to learn, and ability to follow directions.

This is a salaried position with compensation based on experience. No housing provided.

Accounting Intern

The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers are looking for an Accounting Intern for the 2016 baseball season. This is a full time seasonal position. The Accounting Intern will work closely with various departments in the stadium and report directly to the Controller. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following duties:


  • Make change and deliver currency to various departments as needed. (Departments include: parking, team store, concessions, banquet facility, tickets, kids zone & 50/50 raffle.)
  • Work closely with the Food & Beverage, Retail and Ticket Managers in closing out daily sales.
  • Train and assist concession staff on the proper close out procedures.
  • Become familiar with our current point of sale software (Restaurant Manager) to assist with any problems that may arise during a game and provide any POS reports as needed.
  • Count, reconcile and assist with the depositing of all cash from each department.
  • Assist with download and input of Game Day Staff hours and Banquet Staff for biweekly payroll.
  • Record and reconcile tips and gratuity and tie out to credit card reports.
  • Process accounts payable invoices for payment.
  • Assist Controller with monthly closing procedures, including reconciliation of balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Backup for Office Manager duties, i.e. monitor reception area and answer phone calls.

Aside from the above stated duties, all interns will be required to attend staff meetings and assist the front office staff whenever needed. Other duties could include: distribution of giveaways / programs / exit greeting items, pulling tarp, delivering and picking up mail, assisting with special events, theme night planning and execution, customer service, answering phones and general office duties.

In addition to the 70 Timber Rattler home games, Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium is also host to the Wisconsin State High School Baseball Championships (WIAA), the NCAA Division III College Baseball Championship, and the Jordy Nelson Celebrity Softball Challenge. You would also be required to be a part of each of these events.

Start date mid-March 2016.

Video Production Assistant

The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers Production Assistant reports directly to the Production Manager, and is responsible for providing the best entertainment experience possible for our fans, as well as maintaining a clean and professional baseball broadcast.


  • Strong knowledge of video production equipment including cameras, Click Effects Crossfire, video switcher, tape decks, etc.
  • Pursuing or completed a Bachelor's degree in field relative to video production
  • Ability to multitask and complete tasks within deadlines
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Professional knowledge of Adobe Production Suite - Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, and After Effects
  • Must be available for all 70 Timber Rattlers home games as well as several other events at Fox Cities Stadium

Salary: $1200/Month
