    EMPLOYMENT/INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

APPLICANTS

Must be at least a college Junior or Senior, with interest in the Business and/or Sports Management field. All internships must be done for college credit.

GENERAL INFORMATION

The Auburn Doubledays are the Single A affiliate of the Washington Nationals, and play in the New York - Penn League. The Doubledays play their home games at Leo Pinckney Field @ Falcon Park, located in Auburn, NY. The team offices are located at the stadium.  

INTERNSHIPS

The Doubledays have both full-time and part-time internships available for year round. These internships consist of all the aspects listed below:

Sales (Three Positions)

  • Group ticket sales, season ticket packages, and individual tickets  
  •  Advertising sales packages
  •  All Picnics

Marketing & Promotions (Five Positions) 

  • Implement overall promotional schedule, giveaways, etc.
  • Organize special game day events (ex: pitch, hit and run contest, Mascot Day, Christmas in July, baseball card      show, Good Student Night, etc.)
  • Promote the team at numerous events throughout the region
  • Assist in player appearances and Abner Doubleday (mascot) appearances
  • Select and instruct contestants

Communications & Production (Three positions)

  • Assist in-house website production and maintenance
  • Assist in all aspects of social media outlets
  • Creation of Team Program & all print materials
  • Oversee all media relations / Radio broadcasting aspects of the business

Stadium Operations / Turf Management (Four positions)

  • Assist Head Groundskeeper in all aspects of field maintenance
  • Assist in day to day of stadium operations
  • Assist in event day set up for all events at Falcon Park

Auburn Doubledays Street Team:

Duties - the Auburn Doubledays Street Team's primary responsibilities will be to promote and advertise the Auburn Doubledays.  This will be done by assisting at games and events that the Doubledays are involved with, in and around the community. The Street Team will provide and promote a positive image for the Doubledays in Cayuga County and surrounding areas through events in the community, promotional give-a-ways, word of mouth, etc. They will consist of an energetic group of males and females who are enthusiastic about promoting the Auburn Doubledays.

The Auburn Doubledays Street Team will learn the inner workings of a professional minor league baseball team and a sports & entertainment facility. The Street Team must be outgoing, hardworking and enjoy interacting with all kinds of people. Also, all members must have a valid driver's license and have a flexible schedule, especially during the season.

Qualifications-

  • Available to work all 48 home games
  • Available nights and weekends
  • Minimum 18-21 years of age
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • A clean driving record
  • Enthusiastic about the Auburn Doubledays and sports in general.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Possess a creative, ambitious, energetic personality with the ability to motivate other street team members
  • Organized with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced work environment
  • Follow directions well
  • Must be a team player
  • Semester- Fall, Spring & Summer
  • Hours- Some nights and weekends and all Doubledays games.

Doubledays Team Store

Team Store Associates - Main job is to provide excellent customer service to fans.

Prior retail sales is preferred but not required!  Duties include: Being cordial & friendly, operating a cash register, having working knowledge of merchandise in the store, assisting fans on the sales floor, working a mobile cart with various merchandise, selling novelty items to fans in the stands, and assisting with checking in of merchandise.  

Hours are generally 1 ½ hours before game time until the end of the game (4-5 hours).

Program Sellers - Main job is to stand at the gate area as fans enter sell them yearbooks and scorecards.

Duties Include: Having a loud voice to call out products, being able to make change for any purchase without a calculator, being able to answer simple fan questions in a friendly manner or being able to direct fans to Guest Services, and having some interest in baseball and understanding the products you are selling.

Hours are generally 1 ½ hours before game time until the 3rd inning. (2.5-3 hours per game)

Guest Services - Main job is to answer questions and explain contests and other game related events to our fans.

Duties Include: Having a good knowledge of the ballpark-(this is the information that will be given to you at the beginning of the season), being cordial & friendly, enjoy contact with the fans and be able to listen to someone even if they are upset, be able to understand when you can't handle a situation and call your supervisor, have a working knowledge of what goes on during a game, (again, this info will be given to you at the beginning of the season).

Hours are generally 1 ½ hours before game time until the end of the game (4-5 hours per game).

Concessions: Stand Managers, Assistant Managers, Cooks & Food Preps, Cashiers, Picnic Servers.

Kitchen: AM Prep Cooks, PM Line Cooks, Picnic Cooks, Dishwashers

Miscellaneous

  • Assist with non-game day events at Falcon Park (high school baseball games, concerts, etc.)
  • Make deliveries throughout the area
  • Assist fans at the Guest Services, and with promotional displays
  • Pull field tarp
  • Other duties assigned by the General Manager
