Sky Sox in the Community

Sky Sox Community Relations

The Sky Sox Community Relations Department specializes in keeping the Sky Sox Organization part of the Colorado Springs community during the season as well as the off-season. The department focuses on bringing a fun attitude about Sky Sox Baseball wherever they go.

Sky Sox Reading Program

Hit a Home Run for Reading by signing up for the Sky Sox Reading Program! The Sky Sox Reading Program has been a growing success since 2008. In our first year, we had just over 2,000 students signed up. Our numbers have grown tremendously each year, and in 2017 we had a record-breaking number of students participate with over 15,000 students! Last year was a huge success with the help of our sponsors; U.S. Bank, The Summit, Soccer Buddies, and Texas Roadhouse, who provided prizes as incentives for each week of the Reading Program for the students. The program runs four weeks and last year Texas Roadhouse provided the first week prize, Soccer Buddies provided the second week prize, Summit provided the third week prize, and for the fourth and final week the students were able to receive Sky Sox tickets for the 2017 season! U.S. Bank chose two students who completed the program and awarded them each with a $250 college savings account during a Sky Sox Baseball game. We make appearances at various participating schools with our very own Sox the Fox to read to children! Best of all, the program is COMPLETELY FREE!!! All materials (posters & prizes) will be distributed during March and the program will run April 1 - April 30. We will send updates as the time gets closer. We are looking forward to the 2018 Reading Program and getting our local students excited about reading!

- Educational: A fun way to encourage students' reading development.
- Rewards: Students earn special prizes as they complete each level of the program.
- Tickets: Complimentary Sky Sox ticket for students who complete the program.
- Special Reward: Opportunity to win one of two $250 college savings accounts from U. S. Bank.

- Encourage all students to read in a fun, incentive-based way.
- Easy to start program for teachers and children.
- Sky Sox supply all materials necessary for the program.
- Free ticket to game for all teachers / staff participating.
- Chance for a teacher from your school to throw First Pitch before a Sky Sox home game.

All of the Sky Sox home games are played at Security Service Field, and here is your chance to see it up close! The Sky Sox offer stadium tours that give you a look at the amazing amenities that fans may not normally see at a ballgame. On a tour, you will get a firsthand look at locations such as our recently renovated luxury suites, the club house, the private in-door batting cages, our banquet facility, and even a visit to the Sky Sox dugout!

Charity Spotlight

The Sky Sox have entered their fifth season hosting the Charity Spotlight program. The purpose is to shed a light on select charities in the community and give them exposure here at Security Service Field. Twenty-eight selected charities were showcased at the ballpark throughout the 2017 season, receiving free exposure as well as a live interview on our radio broadcast.

If you would like to know more about the Charity Spotlight or would like to be a part of this special opportunity, please contact:
