Ron McKee

Ron McKee

Ron McKee has been a beneficial member of the South Atlantic League for the past two decades, serving as General Manager of the Asheville Tourists since 1980. During his twenty years of service in Asheville, McKee has been named the South Atlantic League's "Executive of the Year" three times (1984, 1990, and 1996). In 1981, under McKee's leadership, Baseball America named the Tourists the top Class-A organization in the country. In addition to his duties as General Manager of the Tourists, McKee currently serves as Second Vice President of the South Atlantic League.

Eddie Murray

Eddie Murray

In 1974, Eddie Murray split his second professional season with Single A Miami and Asheville. He came back to Asheville in 1975 and hit .264 with 17 home runs and 68 RBIs. Murray went on to play 21 seasons in the major leagues, 12 ½ of those seasons with the Baltimore Orioles. Murray is one of only three players with 500 home runs and 3,000 hits, joining Hank Aaron and Willie Mays, and he is the all-time RBI leader among switch hitters.

Paul Snyder

Paul Snyder

Paul Snyder has been with the Braves' organization since he signed with them as a player late in 1957. Snyder managed two ball clubs for the Braves in the Western Carolinas League/South Atlantic League. Snyder led the Greenville Braves to a WCL Championship in 1963 as a player-manager. Snyder returned to the WCL in 1972 to manage the Greenwood Braves to a 70-61 (.534) record, which placed them third in the eight club WCL. The Braves promoted Snyder to Director of Scouting in 1977 and Assistant Vice President - Scouting in 1983. Snyder spent 1991-1995 as the Special Assistant to the General Manager and has been serving as the Braves' Director of Scouting and Player Development since 1996.
