Hunter Wright Stadium
Located on 800 Granby Road in Kingsport, TN, this facility was built within a beautiful 50 acre tract of land which has been designated for the development of the Kingsport Sports Complex. The home of the Kingsport Mets, the stadium represents the city of Kingsport in the Appalachian Baseball League. When the Appalachian League is not in season the stadium plays host to Gate City High School, the Appalachian Athletic Conference and the NAIA Region XII post-season tournaments. In addition regular season collegiate, high school, and AAU tournaments are played at the facility.
The premium 2,500 seat stadium opened on April 25, 1995 with the "Hokie-Smokey Classic" (an annual baseball competition between the University of Tennessee and Virginia Tech). Major League stars Jose Reyes, David Wright, AJ Burnett, and Carlos Gomez made their professional debuts at the facility.
Directions: I-81 to I-26 west, exit 1(Stone Drive), left on West Stone Drive(US 11W) for 1.5 miles, right on Granby Road for 1/2 mile.
