About Dr Pepper Ballpark

Dr. Pepper Ballpark: Home of the Frisco RoughRiders

When it comes to ballparks, there's not much like that of Frisco's Dr. Pepper Ballpark. Home of the Frisco RoughRiders, the Dr. Pepper Ballpark has seen some great improvements over the past few years, and it's become one of the top fields in minor league baseball. With a unique design, exciting features, and an incredible setting, the ballpark is nearly unmatched.

What truly sets Dr. Pepper Ballpark apart from the rest is some of its newest additions, including a lazy river pool out in right field, among other interesting updates. As the 'Riders season gets going and you start planning for some games, take a moment to learn a little more about the park itself so you can really take it all in.

Dr. Pepper Ballpark: History & Recognitions

Opening in 2003 with the Frisco Roughriders' inaugural season, Dr. Pepper Ballpark has seen some great improvements in the years since it was first built. However, it didn't take renovations for others to recognize just how incredible the park is. In its opening season, Dr. Pepper Ballpark was named the best new ballpark in baseball by baseballparks.com.

By 2008, the park was awarded with "Best Ballpark Improvements" by Ballpark Digest, only to be named the fifth best ballpark in Minor League Baseball a year later. Not only that, but it also got the same title for Double-A clubs.

Finally, improvements made prior to the 2015 season were recognized again by Ballpark Digest, securing the award for "Best Ballpark Renovations" of 2015 in the under $6 million category. Clearly, Dr. Pepper Ballpark isn't like many other stadiums. If the awards don't speak for themselves, the features of the ballpark just might.

Ballpark Features

So what was it that brought so much recognition to Dr. Pepper Ballpark and the Frisco RoughRiders? For starters, the features at the park are like no other. For instance, the Choctaw Lazy River (located above the right field wall) gives fans the option to catch a game poolside, while the slow current provides a 360º view of the park. The pool can be accessed by individual ticket holders on specific days, but it can also be reserved for parties and group outings.

Of course, we can't fail to mention the ballpark's architecture. Featuring a vinyl exterior, the outside view of the stadium alone makes the park quite interesting and unique. Aside from the incredible exterior, the park lends itself to 26 luxury suites, bullpens built right into the stands, and even members-only areas. Finally, an air-conditioned bar and restaurant are placed perfectly below the press box behind home plate.

Tickets, Promotions, & Group Specials

In addition to the unique architecture and original features, Dr. Pepper Ballpark offers a range of promotions, special events, and more to keep games exciting. However, since baseball isn't a year-round sport, the park also lends itself to quite a few events during the offseason.
