Tom Gauthier - Director of Broadcast and Media Relations

The 2010 season will be Tom's second with the Hot Rods as the team's radio broadcaster and Director of Media Relations.

As a life-long sports fan, Tom always dreamed of a life in pro athletics, with the majority of those dreams centered on hitting a home run to win a World Series. However, after donating several portions of his athletic talent to greater causes, those dreams were dashed as he was unable to transfer his all-star Little League resume into a successful playing career.

Upon this realization, Tom decided the next best thing to hitting home runs would be broadcasting them. This new dream sent him from the quiet, rolling hills of Epping, NH, to the big city of Boston, MA. It was there he earned a college degree in Broadcast Journalism from Emerson College in 2003.

Over the next five years, Tom worked with various radio stations in his home state, covering sports and news while cultivating his play-by-play craft. He began calling the shots of high school basketball games before graduating to college athletics for the mainstream (football, basketball, ice hockey) and the lesser-known (volleyball, field hockey).

In 2008, after working for three years as an official scorer and fill-in broadcaster for the Hot Rods' sister team, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Tom began the switch to baseball full-time. That summer he was the assistant radio broadcaster with the Class AA Portland Sea Dogs, an affiliate of the Boston Red Sox and rival of the Fisher Cats. From there, a move to Bowling Green was the next step.

Tom lives in Bowling Green with his wife, Judy, and their dachshund, Moose, a rescue from the Bowling Green-Warren County Humane Society.

In his spare time he's a poor-to-average golfer, some-what avid reader, and completely over-the-top fan of the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, and the University of Michigan football team.
