Host Family

The Vermont Lake Monsters want to share a behind-the-scenes look at Minor League baseball with local families. By opening their homes to players for the summer, families develop lasting relationships with baseball's next big stars while enjoying the fun and excitement of the Lake Monsters.

Host Family benefits include a ticket to each game for each member of the family that lives in your home, as well as rent compensation. The Lake Monsters roster is made up of players from all over the U.S., and sometimes other countries, who need housing from mid-June to early-September. Since 1994, players have formed bonds with Vermonters of all ages while teaching them the ins and outs of baseball. The next Ian Desmond, Addison Russell or Jordan Zimmermann could be headed this way and looking for a place to call home for the summer.

"The biggest reward is knowing that I have helped the players along the early path to their dreams," said Freda Tutt, 20-plus year player hostess. "I wouldn't trade this experience for anything!"

If you live near the Burlington area and have a spare bedroom, the Lake Monsters would love to hear from you! Call 802-655-4200 or email for more information. The Lake Monsters can also put you in touch with current host families to give you an insider perspective!
