C. Vance Smith begins his 19th season in the New York Yankees organization and his ninth as the Director of Florida Operations and General Manager for the Tampa Yankees.

Smith was originally hired as an intern in 1994 when the Tampa Yankees played their first season at the University of South Florida.  He continued to work with the team for two seasons until he was hired in 1996 as the Director Of Ticket Operations at the newly opened Legends Field.

Born in Tampa, Florida, Smith received a Bachelor Degree in Business Management from Mercer University in 1993. He resides in Tampa.
