Community Relations Intern

Responsibilities
Season long paid Community Relations internship for the Triple-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. The Norfolk Tides are looking for energetic, ambitious individuals willing to learn and work hard. Intern will be responsible for donation requests, coordinating mascot appearances, school events, player appearances, and youth baseball events. Intern is expected to work all 72 Tides home games as well as other various events. Intern will also do some group sales work as well as other various office tasks.

Experience Required
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge of various social media platforms.

Group Sales Intern

Responsibilities
Season long paid group sales internship for the Triple-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. The Norfolk Tides are looking for energetic, ambitious individuals willing to learn and work hard. Interns will be given the opportunity to sell to existing group accounts as well as cold-calling new business for groups. Individual will handle the account from initial contact to final count calls and ticket distribution. Group sales intern will also be asked to do a variety of other job responsibilities during Tides games as needed..

Experience Required
Individuals must be available to work the entire season(Jan-Sept 4), have reliable transportation and be proficient in basic computer programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook.

Box Office Intern

Responsibilities
Full season Internship with the Norfolk Tides, the Triple-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. Intern will be required to work from February through Labor Day. Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Work all 72 home games as well as outside events
  • Provide superior customer service through daily box office ticket sales
  • Assist in the completion of processing, printing and mailing season and group tickets
  • Administrative duties including filing, sorting, stuffing and mailing
  • Maintain existing database of season ticket and advertising contacts
  • Assist in supervision, scheduling and training of game day staff
  • Create and update daily ticket reports
  • Additional duties assigned as necessary
  • Phone sales
  • Other game day responsibilities as required.

Experience Required
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Ticketmaster experience is helpful. Individuals must have strong oral and written communication skills, and prior customer service experience is preferred.
