Dan Watson joined the TinCaps prior to the 2009 season as the team's Radio Broadcast Manager. He provides play-by-play coverage for all TinCaps games on radio, TV and internet, handles baseball-related media relations and performs most of the upkeep of TinCaps.com. He documents his thoughts about baseball and everything else on his blog, The Watson Files.
Dan began his career in professional baseball in 2007 with the Daytona Cubs, Advanced-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. In 2008 he called games for the Harrisburg Senators, the Double-A Washington Nationals.
A native of Conneaut, Ohio, Dan is a 2006 graduate of Otterbein College. He was the sports director for the college radio station, calling football, basketball and baseball games at Otterbein. Also during college, he was a broadcaster for the Delaware Cows of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League, a wood-bat summer league featuring some of the best college baseball players in the country. Dan got his start in commercial radio while still in school as a weekend overnight news anchor at 610 WTVN-AM in Columbus, Ohio.
Dan covered Ohio State football and basketball in 2006. One of his most memorable assignments was covering President Bush's visit to Columbus and riding in the Presidential motorcade.
Dan is single and enjoys working out, reading and music (he has been known to dabble in the art of karaoke). He grew up as a fan of the Cleveland Indians, Browns and Cavaliers, the Ohio State Buckeyes and next year.
