Keith Winter is in his third full season as the TinCaps head groundskeeper. At the conclusion of the 2011 & 2012 seasons, Winter was recognized as the Sports Turf Manager of the Year in the Midwest League as Parkview Field has won three consecutive Field of the Year awards. In the fall of 2012, Winter coordinated the complete renovation of the TinCaps playing surface, replacing the turf with short-cut bluegrass from Graff's Turf Farms in Colorado.
Baseball groundskeeping is a second career for the Columbus, OH., native, as he spent 25 years in television in central Ohio. Winter and his wife Kathy, a registered nurse at the Parkview Regional Medical Center, have three grown sons (Kyle, Kory, and Kelly). Keith worked for the Great Lakes Loons for three seasons (2007-09) before joining the TinCaps in 2010.
