Each season, the Great Lakes Loons seek a number of seasonal game day employees to help make Dow Diamond the best experience it can be for 70 Loons home games during the summer. The Loons also have internship opportunities in the areas of finance, operations, marketing & promotions, ticket sales, video production, radio production (ESPN 100.9-FM), field maintenance, corporate partnerships and business operations. Loon Loft/Retail Worker

Job Description:

Have Fun! To serve patrons showing high standards of guest service at all times thus providing a helpful and friendly environment which will support maximizing sales. To sell and promote retail products to patrons in an efficient and friendly manner and accurately handle cash, check and credit/debit accounts. To move stock as directed and to fill displays as necessary to merchandise and display products appropriately. Support ticket sales when needed. To keep all work areas clean and tidy and to observe all safety procedures and guidelines. You will have the responsibility of working safely at all times.

Retail Hawkers

Job Description:

Playground Assistant

Job Description:

Have Fun! To provide the primary level of guest assistance in Lou E. Loon's Lookout. Must be able to interact with children ages 2-12 years of age and be able to give direction to ensure safety of all patrons in playground area. Section Leader

Job Description:

Have fun! To make sure Loons fans have fun! Provide the primary level of guest assistance in the seating area in safety and cleanliness of seating area. Help guests locate their assigned seats and solve any ticketing problems. Ticket Takers

Job Description:

Ticket Sellers

Job Description:

Have Fun! Provide the primary level of guest assistance to our fans at the ticket windows and over the phone. Help guests to purchase tickets to any Loons home game and outside events, and help solve any ticketing problems. Be able to answer guest questions in regards to seating locations, restrooms, smoking area, guest services, food carts, special needs, etc. Responsible for balancing till at the end of the night. Act upon all comments/complaints in a prompt and friendly manner. Computer skills and money handling experience preferred. Know all aspects of safety, emergency and evacuation policies.

Parking Attendants

Job Description:

Have Fun! Parking attendants will provide the primary level of guest assistance in parking areas. Post Event Cleaning Position

Job Description:

Have Fun! Post Event Cleaning employee will provide detailed facility clean-up which can include exterior and interior cleaning. Power washing will be included in daily duties. Job will be primarily during mornings into early afternoon with the exception of Saturday games which would require late night cleaning.

Stand Cook

Job Description:
The Stand Cook is responsible for the cooking and delivery of food for one of the two main concession stands at the facility. This position will require someone with cooking skills to be able to provide food for orders placed within a short period of time. This will also require someone with excellent time management and organizational skills. The Concessions Stand Cook reports to the Concession Stand Manager. This is a part-time seasonal position. The season runs from April through mid-September, and this employee is expected to work a majority of the baseball games (70 games per year) and any other events held at the facility over the course of the year. This schedule varies and includes nights, weekends, and holidays.

Picnic Cook

Job Description:
The Picnic Cook is responsible for assisting the Picnic Supervisor in the cooking and delivery of food for multiple picnic groups at a time with picnic sizes ranging from 50 - 650 people. This position will require someone with cooking skills to be able to provide food for multiple buffet lines within a short period of time. This will also require someone with excellent time management and organizational skills. The Picnic Cook reports to Picnic Supervisor or Executive Chef. This is a part-time seasonal position. The season runs from April through mid-September, and this employee is expected to work a majority of the baseball games (70 games per year) and any other events held at the facility over the course of the year. This schedule varies and includes nights, weekends, and holidays.

Picnic Supervisor

Job Description:
The Picnic Supervisor will be responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the picnic venues at the facility. This position requires an individual to coordinate multiple picnic groups at a time with picnic sizes ranging from 50 - 650 people. This person will be responsible for the staffing, set-up, stocking, and operation of multiple buffet lines as well as a full service bar. They will supervise 2 hourly picnic cooks as well as a group of non-profit volunteers ranging from 12-20. The Picnic Supervisor will report to the Executive Chef. This is a part-time seasonal position. The season runs from April through mid-September, and this employee is expected to work a majority of the baseball games (70 games per year) and any other events held at the facility over the course of the year. This schedule varies and includes nights, weekends, and holidays.

Kitchen Staff

Job Description:
The Kitchen Staff employees are responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in the cooking and delivery of food for the entire catering operation at the facility. The catering operation consists of several luxury suites and a full service bar all with a full-scale menu. Additional cooking may be required for the picnic venue which catering to groups ranging in size from 50-650 people. These positions will require individuals with cooking skills to be able to provide food for all catering venues within a short period of time. This will also require individuals with excellent time management and organizational skills. The Kitchen Staff report directly to the Kitchen Supervisor and Executive Chef. This is a part-time seasonal position. The season runs from April through mid-September, and this employee is expected to work a majority of the baseball games (70 games per year) and any other events held at the facility over the course of the year. This schedule varies and includes nights, weekends, and holidays.

The dishwashers are responsible for the cleaning and sanitizing of all dishes, pans and other items used in the catering operation at the facility. Portable/Concessions Cashier

Job Description:
The Portable/Concessions Cashier is responsible for greeting the guest in an appropriate way. They also will need to be able to help the guest with any questions about the menu and be able to place the order. This position will require someone with money handling skills to ensure that the customer gets the correct amount of change. This will also require someone with excellent time management and organizational skills. The Portable/Concessions Cashier will report to the Assistant Concessions Manager or Concessions Manager. This is a part-time seasonal position. The season runs from April through mid-September, and this employee is expected to work a majority of the baseball games (70 games per year) and any other events held at the facility over the course of the year. This schedule varies and includes nights, weekends, and holidays.

Food Portable Worker

 Job Description:
Game day portable workers are responsible for different functions within the portables as outlined below (these are examples):

Philly Steak Cart - Responsible for preparing and cooking philly steak sandwiches for customers. There are usually two workers at this portable, one cook and one cashier.
Sausage Shack - Responsible for preparing and cooking hot dogs and brats for customers. There are usually two workers at this portable, one cook and one cashier.
Nacho Cart - Responsible for preparing super nachos according to customer's specifications. This port usually has 3 employees; 2 cooking and one as cashier.
BBQ Cart - Responsible for preparing and selling BBQ items including pulled pork.
Wrap Cart - Responsible for selling a wide variety of health food options, including chicken and veggie wraps, fruit cups and salads. There are usually two workers at this portable, one cook and one cashier.
Dippin Dots - Responsible for preparing and selling Dippin Dots ice cream and cotton candy.
Popcorn Portable - Responsible for cooking popcorn according to customer demand.
Lemonade/Sno-Cone - Responsible for preparing and selling lemonade and sno-cones based on customer demand.
Ice cream/ Funnel Cakes - Responsible for preparing and selling ice cream and funnel cakes based on demand and desire of the customer.
Carving Portable- Responsible for hand carving prime rib and pork loin then building custom sandwiches according to guest requests. This port usually has 2-3 workers; one carving, one building sandwiches and one as cashier.
 

All positions are expected to see the customer as first priority over anything else in the ballpark. You are expected to service the customer with "positively outrageous customer service". This includes greeting the customer, welcoming them, and assisting them with a smile. The Portable Staff reports directly to the Concession Manager and Assistant Concessions Manager. Concession Stand Managers

Job Description:
The Concessions Stand Manager is responsible for the game day operations of concession stands at the facility, including ensuring that they are operating efficiently and that inventory levels are controlled. This person will direct approximately 15-20 game-day food service employees and non-profit volunteers including cashiers, runners, and cooks. She/he is also responsible for maintaining proper inventory levels at the concession stands throughout the game. The Concessions Stand Manager reports to the Concessions Manager. This is a part-time seasonal position. The season runs from April through mid-September, and this employee is expected to work a majority of the baseball games (70 games per year) and any other events held at the facility over the course of the year. This schedule varies and includes nights, weekends, and holidays.

Suite Servers

Job Description:
Suite Servers provide positively outrageous customer service to patrons at the suite level and Great Lakes Reserve during all events at the facility. This includes 12 luxury suites and 3 private group areas. They will assist with suite set-up, procuring food and beverage orders, delivering food, and clean-up at the conclusion of the event. As one of the front-line customer service employees, suite servers must be professional, helpful, and enthusiastic to excel at this job. The suite server reports to the Catering Coordinator and Pantry Assistant. This is a part-time seasonal position. The season runs from April through mid-September, and this employee is expected to work a majority of the baseball games (70 games per year) and any other events held at the facility over the course of the year. This schedule varies and includes nights, weekends, and holidays.

Bartender

Job Description:
Bartenders provide positively outrageous customer service to patrons at the Great Lakes Reserve and on the concourse during all events at the facility. They will assist with bar set-up, procuring beverage orders, and bar clean-up at the conclusion of the event. As one of the front-line customer service employees, bartenders must be professional, personable, helpful, and enthusiastic to excel at this job. The bartender reports to the Catering Coordinator and Pantry Assistant. This is a part-time seasonal position. The season runs from April through mid-September, and this employee is expected to work a majority of the baseball games (70 games per year) and any other events held at the facility over the course of the year. This schedule varies and includes nights, weekends, and holidays.

Warehouse Staff

Job Description:
Warehouse staff is responsible for the day to day stocking and maintenance on all locations in the food and beverage operation. They assist in stocking, inventory control, and game day preparations. Additionally, the warehouse staff functions during events to provide support to any and all locations in operation. The warehouse staff reports to the Concessions Manager and/ or the Assistant Concessions Manager. This is a part-time seasonal position. The season runs from April through mid-September, and this employee is expected to work a majority of the baseball games (70 games per year) and any other events held at the facility over the course of the year. This schedule varies and includes nights, weekends, and holidays.

Restaurant Kitchen Manager

Job Description
The Restaurant Kitchen Manager will manage all kitchen operations, hire and manage kitchen staff, assist with front of house duties and leadership, ensure high standards in food quality, efficiency and guest service, and work closely with various Loons and Michigan Baseball Foundation leaders to maximze the restaurant's potential. The restaurant is located in the new East End development and scheduled to open in the spring of 2014.

Loons Expectations
We envision a community gathering place serving quality food and offering outstanding service. Qualified candidates should have significant restaurant experience, have strong internal and external customer service skills, the ability to efficiently organize kitchen work processes, and the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed. Assistant Concessions Manager

Job Description:
The Assistant Concessions Manager is responsible for overseeing the day to day stocking and maintenance at all locations in the food and beverage operation as well as managing the warehouse staff. They assist in stocking, inventory control, and game day preparations. Additionally, the warehouse staff functions during events to provide support to any and all locations in operation. They will also be responsible for helping the Concessions Manager with staffing needs and helping out with non-
profit management. Non- Profit management consists of helping assist the volunteer groups with any needs they may have to ensure their experience at Dow Diamond is an enjoyable one. The Assistant Concessions Manager reports to the Concessions Manager. This is a part-time seasonal position. This role will take place roughly from March-September and this employee is expected to work a majority of the baseball games (70 games per year) and any other events held at the facility over the course of the year. This schedule varies and includes nights, weekends, and holidays.

Must be able to work flexible hours including day, evening, weekend and holiday hours. Must arrive at work properly dressed - cleaned and pressed! Khaki pants, Loons shirt, and clean comfortable closed-toe shoes. No cell phone use on the concourse level or in sight of Guests. No visible tattoos, appropriate jewelry! If you're not sure - ASK!

Physical Demands:
Ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time while carrying up to 50 pounds. Ability to use stairs while carrying 50 pounds. Ability to withstand outdoor elements: heat or cold.
