Larry Day - Manager

Larry Day, 32, is the Captains' 12th field manager. He served as the Captains' hitting coach in 2015 and is starting his third season in the Indians' organization. Day spent last season in High-A Lynchburg. Before his organizational debut with the Captains in 2015, Day assisted at Ohio University in 2014, where he served as the recruiting coordinator and coached pitchers, catchers and hitters. Day spent six seasons, from 2008-2013, at Vanderbilt University as the first base coach for the Commodores.



Jason Blanton - Pitching Coach

Jason Blanton, 37, is the Pitching Coach for the Captains in 2017, his first in the Indians' organization. Previously, Blanton served as a Pitching Coach in the Seattle Mariners' organization for two seasons (2014-15) and last year he was the Pitching Coach for the New Britain Bees in the independent Atlantic League. Blanton pitched parts of three seasons, from 2001-2003, in the Chicago Cubs' organization and then went on to pitch for several independent league clubs from 2005-2009.

Justin Toole - Hitting Coach

Justin Toole, 30, is the Hitting Coach for the Captains. Toole played seven seasons of Minor League Baseball. All seven seasons were in the Indians' organization. Last season, Toole was the Hitting Coach in Mahoning Valley. Toole may be best known for his rare feat that happened on August 25, 2012. That evening, as a member of Cleveland's Advanced A-Affiliate, the Carolina Mudcats, Toole played all nine positions in one game.

Junior Betances - Bench Coach

Junior Betances, 43, is the Bench Coach with the Captains in 2017, his second consecutive in Lake County. Betances will continue his career with the Indians organization that has spanned over 20 years as a coach, player or executive. Junior was the Manager of the DSL Indians from 2002-2005. He was the Hitting Coach in the Arizona League in 2015.
