ValleyCats Internship Program

An internship is one of the most important first steps to starting a career in the sports industry.

ValleyCats Mission Statement:

"To develop 'Fans for Life' by creating an experience that is affordable, fun, and entertaining while in a
safe and clean environment."

Overview

The Tri-City ValleyCats, a Class A - Short Season Affiliate of the Houston Astros, are located in Troy,
NY. The team plays in the New York-Penn League, one of the oldest and most accomplished leagues
in baseball.

The Tri-City ValleyCats offer a challenging internship program that will educate participants and help them to grow personally and professionally. Interns are given real-world job responsibilities and play a vital role in creating a successful season. Although the ValleyCats are committed to hiring locally, past interns have come from as far as Alabama, California, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin.

Professional Development & Special Events

The ValleyCats internship experience goes far beyond assisting staff at the ballpark. Special events for interns
include the Cat'athalon - an "Amazing Race" style event throughout the stadium, Staff vs Intern
Baseball game, guest speakers, and field trips introducing interns to unique experiences, people, and
places in New York's Capital Region. Past trips have included the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown,
New York-Penn League All Star Game, Saratoga Race Track, and other Minor League ballparks.
