SUSAN SAVAGE
OWNER
Susan, a native of Amarillo Texas, is entering her fourth season as the sole majority owner of the Sacramento River Cats. Susan and her late husband, Art Savage, purchased the Triple-A franchise and moved the team from Vancouver to the River City in 2000. For 10 years, they co-owned the River Cats, bringing baseball back to Sacramento after a 23-year absence. Art passed away on November 21, 2009.

 

A graduate of UCLA, Susan is passionate about the arts and has integrated student art into the ballpark through the Pillars of Art tile program and the annual calendar featuring original art from area schools. Her vision, as was Art's, is to offer the best fan experience possible and to make customer service the top priority. Susan and the River Cats family strive, on a daily basis, to make Raley Field the number one venue for entertainment in the Sacramento area.

Susan's two sons, Jeff and Brent, are both River Cats employees.

JEFF SAVAGE
GENERAL MANAGER

Jeff Savage is the River Cats' General Manager and oversees Ticket Sales, Marketing, Events & Entertainment and various land development projects around Raley Field.

 

Prior to joining the River Cats, Jeff operated a sole proprietorship, consulting and advising client companies both inside and outside the professional sports world. Before venturing on his own, Jeff was a manager in the San Francisco office of Deloitte & Touche, consulting client companies in the management of their intellectual property.

Jeff received his bachelor's degree in business administration at Southern Methodist University and his masters in business administration at the University of California, Davis. He and his wife, Ulrike, and their children reside in Sacramento.

DAN VISTICA
EXECUTIVE VP & CFO

A native of Portland, Ore., Dan is entering his 14th season with the River Cats. He is the Executive Vice President and CFO of the River Cats and Chairman of the Board of the River Cats Foundation. During his time at Raley Field, he has managed all aspects of the company's finance and administrative functions as well as certain operations of the company.

 

Prior to joining the River Cats, Dan worked in private industry and began his career with Deloitte. He earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from Loyola University in Los Angeles and his master's degree in taxation from Golden Gate University in Los Angeles.

He is a member of both the AICPA and the California CPA Society. He is currently a member of US Bank's Board of Directors for the Sacramento region and heads the Pacific Coast League's Finance Committee.

CHIP MAXSON
SENIOR VP, BUSINESS OPERATIONS

Originally from the Midwest, Chip grew up cheering for The Ohio State Buckeyes, Chicago Bears, Cubs and Bulls. After playing college baseball at Olivet Nazarene University, he realized that MLB was not going to be a reality but a career in baseball certainly could be.

 

Chip continued his education, earning an MSE in Sports Management from Baylor University and landing internships with the Kane County Cougars and Memphis Redbirds. From Memphis, Chip joined Mandalay Baseball Properties and led the Frisco RoughRiders sales staff that was recognized by Sports Business Journal as the highest revenue-producing team in all of MiLB in 2007.

In 2008, Chip moved to Tacoma, WA, to help turn around the Tacoma Rainiers. As Vice President of Ticket Sales, Maxson oversaw the largest sales staff in the PCL and increased ticket revenue by more than 150% in his first four seasons by selling out the contract suites, premium and club areas. Chip was also instrumental in the $30M renovation of Cheney Stadium which won Ballpark Digest's 2011 Renovation of the Year award.

In 2012, Chip and his wife Allison moved to Sacramento to join the River Cats family. Allison is an elite runner, so together they enjoy doing races, working out and anything outdoors.

GRACE BAILEY

Grace is entering her fourth season with the River Cats as the Human Resources Manager. Grace joined the team with a tenured background in HR, Management and Customer Service; she is the ultimate Human Resource professional and is known for her warm, outgoing, and charismatic persona. Grace is passionate about staff development and providing opportunities for River Cats employees to excel.

In her off time, you can find Grace preparing and sharing delicious meals and moments with her large Italian family, as well as attending her son's sporting events.

LEAH LAROT
RECEPTIONIST

Leah is in her first season as the receptionist with the Sacramento River Cats. Born and raised in San Jose, Leah's passion to compete earned her a soccer scholarship to Sacramento State where she graduated in 2011 with a degree in Communications with a minor is Sociology. While at Sac State, Leah became the first lady Hornet to play in and win two conference championships and advance to two NCAA tournaments. She is among the top players in school history in goals and games played.

 

Before joining the River Cats team, Leah experienced the other side of Sac State sports, working for the Athletic Department, aiding at various sporting events including baseball, softball, football and track. She also held temporary positions working retail at Nike as well as office positions for Corporate Verizon.

Leah still enjoys playing soccer with some of her college buddies and can be found most weekends still competing for indoor and outdoor teams. Additionally, Leah is involved with community outreach programs for youth through her church, The House a Bayside Church. She still finds time to drive down to San Jose to visit family and friends, but sees herself settling in Sacramento.

Megan graduated from Oakmont High School in 2007 with an interest in web design. At Oakmont, she helped edit the school website.

 

Megan worked as a retail stock clerk after high school before joining the On Deck Shop at Raley Field in the spring of 2009. With a retail background and web skills, Megan was hired as a full-time River Cats employee that same season. This will be Megan's fifth season with the River Cats.

Megan also loves being involved with Roller Derby. Aside from her love of derby, she enjoys the company of friends, family and pets.

Greg is entering his fifth season in Minor League Baseball, and second as the director of corporate partnerships for the River Cats. Prior to joining the team, Greg worked five years in San Francisco for InStadium Inc., a sports marketing firm based out of Chicago, Ill. Greg attended the University of the Pacific where he earned a B.A. in Communications and a minor in Marketing. A die-hard New York Mets fan, Greg enjoys watching sports and hanging out with friends and family on the weekends.

JIM MANKER
MANAGER, CORPORATE PARTNERSHIP

Jim is new to the River Cats, coming directly from ADP in Sacramento, where he was the Major Accounts Client District Manager. Prior to ADP, Jim worked full time in the church as a youth pastor, college pastor and lead pastor in Porterville, CA, San Diego, CA, Elk Grove, CA and Seattle, WA. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Communication from Point Loma Nazarene University, and a Master's Degree from Nazarene Theological Seminary. He has been married for 23 years this coming August, to Nonie, a Sacramento native and they have three teenage sons together, Adam, Andrew and Nash.

 

Jim is a lifelong sports fan who believes Vin Scully is a Jedi Master, that Gremlins really do exist, and that hope is good thing (maybe the best thing). He loves to golf, snowboard, play ping pong, softball and Texas Hold 'Em, watch and quote movies, and yell while watching Raider games. A self-described "foodie" he loves to cook with Nonie, pour wine and enjoy conversation. His favorite new thing? He now is able to tell people that his office has 4 bases and a home run deck, and is excited about representing the River Cats to the Sacramento community and beyond.

JOHNNY DOSKOW
BROADCASTER, ENGLISH RADIO

In November of 2000, the Sacramento River Cats named Johnny Doskow their play-by-play announcer. Now, 10 years later, Johnny is a mainstay of the Sacramento community and his signature, "Holy Koudelka," is known throughout River Cat nation.

 

Johnny Doskow joined the River Cats prior to the 2001 season, where he spent three seasons as the play-by-play announcer and host of daily pregame and postgame shows for the Fresno Grizzlies. Prior to joining the Grizzlies, Doskow worked two seasons as the play-by-play broadcaster for the High Desert Mavericks of the California League and three seasons doing the play-by-play announcing for the Cedar Rapids Kernels of the Midwest League.

Doskow has received recognition from a number of national publications, including Baseball America, who named him one of the top 10 Minor League broadcasters during the 1999 season. Locally, Doskow won the Sacramento News and Reviews "Best Soul in a Baseball Broadcaster" award in the 2004 season.

Doskow graduated from the University of La Verne in 1990 with a bachelor's degree in communications. Johnny is a resident of Sacramento, where he lives with his 6-year-old daughter, Emily.

ETHAN SHAWLEE
COORDINATOR, PARTNERSHIP ACTIVATION

Ethan is entering his first season with the Sacramento River Cats. A native of Santa Rosa, California, his competitive nature and enjoyment for athletics led him to the University of California, Davis where he played Division One soccer and guided his team as a captain for two years. Ethan graduated from UC Davis with a B.A. in Sociology-Organizational Studies and a minor in Communication.

 

Before joining the River Cats family, Ethan gained experience in Corporate Partnerships with the Sacramento Kings. He also has experience in operations with the San Francisco Giants and the UC Davis Athletic Department. When Ethan is not working, you might find him playing various sports or watching the San Francisco 49ers, San Francisco Giants, Golden State Warriors, and San Jose Earthquakes.

This is Rose's fifth season with the River Cats as the Merchandise Manager. She has been in the retail business for the last 30 years. Rose and her husband, Rick, owned and operated a tennis specialty store for most of those years. She is a graduate of Fresno State University and the mother of two boys, Ricky and Rhett. For seven years she coached the Rio Americano High School girls varsity tennis team -- and she still enjoys playing tennis in her free time.

Brent is entering his 10th season in minor league baseball as a website and research coordinator with the Sacramento River Cats. Brent is a fan of all sports - Baseball (Oakland A's), Hockey (San Jose Sharks), Basketball (Sacramento Kings) and Football (San Francisco 49ers). Brent's favorite baseball memory came when Rickey Henderson broke Lou Brock's all-time stolen base record.

MANAGER, SEASON TICKETS & SENIOR CORPORATE ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE

Katie is enjoying her first season with the Sacramento River Cats. She will serve as the primary contact for all current River Cats season ticket holders with the goal of maximizing the experience had by each and every season ticket holder and their guests at Raley Field. She is also responsible for growing the River Cats season ticket family.

 

Prior to joining the River Cats, Katie spent nearly eight seasons with the Sacramento Kings. She is a sports enthusiast who enjoys playing softball, tennis and golf. Having grown up in the Bay Area, she is a long-time San Francisco Giants fan. In her spare time, she enjoys watching movies with her husband or hanging out at the park with her black lab, Sasha.

JORDAN CANNON
MANAGER, INSIDE SALES

Jordan is entering his first season with the Sacramento River Cats, as the Inside Sales Manager. Jordan is a graduate of Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, where he earned his B.S. in Sport Management.

Jordan has most recently worked with The Adirondack Phantoms, the AHL Affiliate of The Philadelphia Flyers, as a Senior Account Executive. Prior to his time with the Phantoms, he worked with The Philadelphia Soul, an arena football team in Philadelphia, PA. During his time at the Soul he witnessed the team capture an American Conference Championship, but came up short in the Arena Bowl in New Orleans.

Born and raised on the east-coast Jordan is an avid Philadelphia sports fan. In his free time, he enjoys playing baseball and golf with friends. With his first time living on the west-coast, Jordan is excited for the opportunity to work with the Sacramento River Cats.

Samantha is entering her third season with the River Cats. Besides managing the popular high school baseball program, Samantha is the key contact for all sports teams ranging from local youth teams through college teams.

 

The Sacramento State graduate previously worked as a sports reporter with KCRA news, covering high school and professional sports, including the River Cats. Born and raised in Napa, Samantha played soccer, basketball and volleyball in high school and is now taking up golf. When not watching the River Cats, Samantha is watching the San Francisco Giants, Oakland Athletics and San Francisco 49ers.

Blayde is new to the River Cats, coming to us from the Sacramento Capitals (world team tennis), where he was VP of sales and marketing. Prior to working with the Capitals, he was the Nor Cal/AZ territory sales manager for Prince racquet sports. Blayde attended San Jose State University and Hartnell College where he helped his tennis team capture their first and only conference championship. He loves tennis, but also loves the Niners, Sharks, Giants and River Cats, and of course every team his two kids play on. On his off time, Blayde enjoys backpacking, watching movies on the big screen, and spending time with his family.

Zachary Haber graduated from Suffolk University in Boston in 2011. After graduation, he moved back to San Francisco before joining the River Cats in 2012.

STEPHEN CASELLI
GROUP EVENTS ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE

Stephen is entering his second season with the Sacramento River Cats, and his first as a group events account executive. Stephen is a graduate of Fresno State, where he earned his B.A. in Kinesiology, and Long Beach State, where he received his Masters in Sport Management.

 

Stephen has previously worked with the Fresno State athletic department, interned with the Los Angeles Lakers and had a three-year stint with USA Volleyball, where he served as the coordinator of beach programs.

Stephen is an avid Sacramento Kings, San Francisco Giants and Fresno State Bulldogs fan. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends or playing golf, basketball and soccer.

ERIC ESPOSITO
GROUP EVENTS ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE

Eric was born and raised in Chicago, Ill. and ended up moving to a Southwestern suburb of Chicago. He played baseball at Lewis University where he majored in Sport Management with a minor in Business Administration. After graduating he got an internship with the Joliet Slammers of the independent Frontier League, where he ultimately became the Group Sales Manager. He spent two years with the Slammers, and was with the club when they won the Fronier League championship. He is an avid Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bears, and Chicago Blackhawks fan. Moving to California for the firs time, Eric is excited for the opportunity to work for the Sacramento River Cats.

MEGAN HINDE
GROUP EVENTS ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE

Fresh off of her internship in 2012, Megan has worked her way up to being a full-time Group Sales team member for the 2013 River Cat season. She graduated from Sacramento State with a Recreation Administration degree and is excited to be working with community groups within the sporting industry. She has had experience working operations with the San Francisco Giants, California Restaurant Association, Fulton and El Camino Recreation and Park District, and T-Bird Restaurant Group.

Born in Sacramento and raised in Redding, Megan loves everything northern California has to offer. She is a HUGE San Francisco Giants fan and in her spare time you can find her attending games at AT&T Park. In the offseason she spends her time with family and friends attending country concerts, boating, rooting on the Green Bay Packers, or finding random outdoor adventures.

Meagan was born in Germany, but mainly grew up in Elk Grove where she played multiple sports at Elk Grove High. She graduated from Sac State with a B.A. in Intercultural/International Communications. After graduation, she had the opportunity to do some traveling which included Germany, Paris, Scotland, and Honduras. She is a San Francisco Giants and 49ers fan. Being from the area, she is excited to bring sports and the community together with her opportunity to work with River Cats.

Joey is in his first season with the River Cats. Born and raised in Windsor, which is in Sonoma County, he competed in college baseball as a pitcher at Sonoma State University. His baseball team made it to the College World Series in 2011. He graduated from Sonoma State University, earning a Bachelor's of Arts in Sociology. He is an avid Bay Area sports fan, following the San Francisco Giants, San Francisco 49ers, Golden State Warriors and San Jose Sharks.

JESSICA WILSON
INSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE

Jessica is entering her second year with the Sacramento River Cats.

 

A native to Sacramento, Jessica attended school in Natomas Unified, and went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in English from Sacramento State. Working through college, and well past graduation, Jessica spent a decade working with youth and families in schools and local non-profits. She is a Prevention Specialist, and will occasionally train staff members at non-profit agencies in family-based curriculum.

In her spare time she loves playing volleyball, and is an avid baseball and football fan. She considers herself a "foodie" and loves suggestions to try new restaurants. You can often find her sitting down to a meal with her husband, Brad, and their son.

RYAN VON SOSSAN

The 2013 season will be Ryan's seventh with the River Cats and Raley Field, and his second as director of event operations. He previously worked with minor league teams in Dayton, Ohio, and Lincoln, Neb.

An Ohio native, Ryan graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Dayton. He enjoys spending free time with family, live music and skiing the Tahoe slopes.

TONY ASARO
COMMUNITY RELATIONS

Tony Asaro is entering his 14th season overseeing River Cats community relations.

 

Tony works directly with the River Cats Foundation, Inc., River Cats Independence Field, Home Run Tours, Triple-A Assemblies, non-profit organization fundraising, community days at Raley Field, youth sports and baseball camps, High School All-City Athletic Awards, high school and college baseball games at Raley Field and the River Cats Speakers Bureau.

The primary focus of the River Cats Community Relations Department is to provide programs that improve the lives of children and families in our region.

Tony graduated from La Sierra High School and Sacramento State University. Throughout his career, Tony has served as a Youth Program Director for Northeast YMCA Sacramento, a Career Center Counselor for San Juan Unified School District, a Community Schools Director for SJUSD and a small business owner in Sacramento. Tony and his wife, Nanci, have four children and three grandchildren.

Her responsibilities include overseeing advertising, media promotions, creative services and other marketing efforts for the team. Genene attended University of the Pacific in Stockton, Calif., and has a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. Prior to working with the River Cats, she worked for Cal Expo and the California State Fair, performing a variety of marketing, public relations and advertising functions for the 2008-10 State Fairs.

LESLIE LINDSEY
MANAGER, MARKETING

Leslie joined the River Cats just before the 2010 season. Prior to working with the River Cats, Leslie worked as a program and event coordinator for Mission Oaks Recreation and Park District. She is a graduate of Sacramento State with a B.S. in Recreation Administration.

 

Leslie has always been a sports fan, and enjoys playing volleyball and basketball. She loves to watch San Francisco 49ers football and any baseball game, but is a lifelong San Francisco Giants fan. Leslie loves to travel anywhere in the world, but is often happy sneaking away for a weekend in Lake Tahoe.

DANE LUND
MANAGER, ENTERTAINMENT AND PROMOTIONS

Dane comes to the River Cats from Tacoma, WA where he spent three seasons in game-entertainment with the Tacoma Rainiers. Dane is a Washington native and admits to being a life-long Seattle Mariners fan.

 

Dane received his BA in Media & Communications at Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA. After graduating Dane completed an internship with Media for Development International, a socially conscious film company located in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

When he's not at the ballpark, Dane loves to travel. He has been to 21 countries and 49 states. Dane also enjoys Seattle sports, wakeboarding, snowboarding, cycling, and going to concerts.

Sara has been with the River Cats since 2009 as a graphic designer and team photographer. Sara graduated from Sacramento State University with a B.A. in Photography and a minor in Marketing with a focus in graphic design. Prior to working with the River Cats, Sara worked as a graphics intern with the Sacramento Kings of the NBA. She's an avid soccer player, loves snowboarding, listening to music, and spending time with her family and friends.

Brittney was born and raised in Roseville, CA, where she grew up playing all sports. In high school, she played softball and volleyball, and went on to become a coach for Roseville Girls Softball. She attened Sac State, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing, Entrepreneurship, and International Business. She loves the atmosphere of Raley Field and is very excited to be a part of the team.

RHETT HOLLAND
MASCOT COORDINATOR

Rhett joined the River Cats during the 2010 season as the team's Mascot Coordinator. Rhett organizes and handles all of Dinger's outside community events, as well as Dinger's in-game entertainment at Raley Field.

 

Rhett graduated from Rio Americano High School in 2006. Previously, Rhett worked for Safeway as a check clerk and managed the dairy department. Rhett also managed a local golf store, The Wide World of Golf, for four years. Rhett is an avid white water enthusiast who loves fishing, playing music and all sports!
