Chris Taylor
Assistant Director of Stadium Operations

Where were you born/raised?
Hingham, Massachusetts.

Who was your favorite team/player?
The Boston Red Sox are my favorite team. Favorite player would have to be from the 2004 World Series team, Bill Mueller and Todd Walker. Not just one, they're a package deal.

How did you come to work in baseball?
I interned with a sports agency in Boston, and that led to a job with the Memphis Redbirds, then the Albuquerque Isotopes, and now here. Pretty much, just luck.

What brought you to the Zephyrs?
I took a wrong turn at Albuquerque. No, I found out there was a stadium ops opening, interviewed with Todd Wilson and got here in April last year.

Describe your day-to-day responsibilities.
I come in, meet with Todd to see what needs to be done, walk around the facility, checking out the field, dugouts, concourse, suites, press box, etc. and see what has to be repaired.

What's your favorite part about working for the Zephyrs?
Tarp.

There's never a dull moment, and always something to do. And the comfortable couches.

What is the worst task you've had at Zephyr Field?
Kicking people out of the pool at night. They want to be there all night, and they just can't be. And if it's the end of an eight-game homestand, I just want to go home.

Are there any promotions from Memphis or Albuquerque you'd like to see here?
Memphis had the Clydesdales come down from St. Louis, but that won't happen here. I'll say Nascar Night, because you had a lot of, shall we say, different people come out.

What is the most air time you've ever gotten on the golf cart?
I can tell you exactly when. There was a tarp call and I was at the back gate, so I went across the parking lot, hit an island, went nose first into a puddle, thinking I'd killed it. I have no idea how much air I got, but it gave me a good excuse to be late to the tarp.

Final question. What is it?
It is what it is.
