Go Nuts for Reading!

The Richmond Flying Squirrels have teamed up with M&T Bank and Richmond area schools to promote literacy among elementary school students. Simply by reading eight books over two months, students can earn a free ticket to a Flying Squirrels game this summer!

How to Get Involved:

Option 1 - The Flying Squirrels will put on a 30-minute Go Nuts for Reading! Assembly The assembly will emphasize the importance of reading with a visit from Nutzy who acts out the reading of "Nutzy at the Baseball Game" and includes an explanation of the Go Nuts for Reading! Program, presented by M&T Bank.

Option 2 - Request bookmarks to be sent out to your students. The Flying Squirrels will distribute the bookmarks to the school contacts.

For completing the Go Nuts for Reading! Program, students will be able to redeem their bookmark for a ticket to a Flying Squirrels game on their school's Reading Night at the ballpark.

Students in attendance on Go Nuts for Reading! Nights will gain recognition for completing the program at the ballpark by participating in a pre-game parade around the warning track and may have a chance to win additional great prizes courtesy of local businesses!
