Joe Ritzo, Director of Broadcasting
Joe is in his ninth year as the "Voice of the San Jose Giants" and his 13th season with the club. Joe began with the San Jose Giants while a college freshman in 2003 broadcasting select home games before moving into a full-time role prior to the 2007 season. He has also served as the club's Director of Broadcasting since 2010. Joe has previous broadcast experience calling games for Stanford University baseball, Santa Clara University soccer and women's volleyball as well as local high school basketball and baseball. A native of Palo Alto, Joe holds a BA in Communications from Santa Clara University.
As Director of Broadcasting, Joe is the radio play-by-play voice and hosts the pregame and postgame shows of Giants games. He also broadcasts the play-by-play of all San Jose Giants television games on Comcast Hometown Network and co-hosts the Inside the San Jose Giants podcast. He enters the 2015 season having called over 1,300 San Jose Giants games. In addition to his work behind the microphone, Joe handles various baseball operations duties including writing game recaps, daily game notes, maintaining the San Jose Giants blog and assisting with the club's social media efforts.
