The Voice of the Yard Goats: Jeff Dooley & Dan Lovallo

Jeff Dooley, Director of Broadcasting:

Jeff Dooley is set to begin his second season as the "Voice of the Yard Goats" after calling New Britain Rock Cats broadcasts for 18 years. He is the lead play-by-play announcer for all games on radio and television and hosts complete coverage of the Pre-game and Post Game shows for all games, home and road. His broadcasts can be heard on i-Heart Media Hartford affiliate, News Radio 1410 AM (WPOP), AM 1150 (WMRD), AM 1420 (WLIS) and home games are streamed on MiLB.TV. Last season, he was featured in a segment with the Colorado Rockies on ROOT SPORTS in Denver. In 2014, his play-by-play highlight was featured on ESPN Sports Centers Top-10 Plays and in 2013 he was selected to broadcast a regional telecast on Fox Sports North in Minnesota. His play-by-play highlights have aired on the Colorado Rockies and Minnesota Twins Radio Networks and were featured nationally on ESPN's Mike & Mike Show. Dooley also hosts the live Game Day show prior to each home game from the television studio desk in the ballpark concourse and the show is simulcast on radio.

The Lincoln, RI native was behind the microphone for some of the most memorable moments in Rock Cats history, including three Eastern League Playoff Series, a major league exhibition game with the Minnesota Twins, and the only two no-hitters in franchise history. He was the television play-by-play broadcaster for the 2013 Eastern League All-Star Game and called the 2003 EL All-Star game on radio. Additionally, Dooley was the master of ceremonies at the All-Star Luncheon at the ESPN headquarters in Bristol. The St. Joseph's College (ME) graduate has covered the Major League Playoffs and reports from spring training each year. Dooley also hosted a weekly feature on the Twins Pre-Game Show on the Twins' 50-station radio network.

Dooley has called baseball on many of the radio outlets in the state of Connecticut including: News Radio 1410 (i-Heart Media), Newstalk 1080 WTIC (50,000 watts CBS Radio), Buckley Radio-Talk of Connecticut (WDRC, AM 1360, WMMW AM 1470, WSNG AM 610, WWCO AM 1240), WMRD AM 1150, WLIS AM 1420, WELI AM 960, WAVZ AM 1300, WPRX AM 1120, WNTY AM 990 and WMAS AM 1450 in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Additionally, Dooley is the play-by-play voice of the University of Hartford Men's Basketball Team. Dooley resides in West Hartford with his wife, Marne, and their sons, Joseph and Ryan.

Dan Lovallo Radio/Televison Broadcaster

Dan Lovallo begins his 21st season, broadcasting professional baseball, and his second with the Hartford Yard Goats. It is also Lovallo's 14th season teamed with the "Voice of the Yard Goats," Jeff Dooley. Lovallo broadcast New Britain Rock Cats games on radio from 2000 through 2008, then worked on select Rock Cats broadcasts on radio and television from 2013 through 2015. He has an extensive background in broadcasting professional baseball
and sports in general.

In 1983, Lovallo began broadcasting games for the Kinston, NC Blue Jays, then affiliated with the Toronto Blue Jays. Lovallo moved on to the Richmond, VA Braves in 1985, then the top farm club of the Atlanta Braves. Among the players on the Braves were future Hall of Fame players Tom Glavine and John Smoltz, along with several other players that served as the backbone of those great Atlanta clubs of the 1990s.

In 1990, Lovallo returned to his home state of Connecticut and eventually joined WDRC radio in Hartford to become news and sports director. His assignments included broadcasting women's and men's professional basketball, college basketball for the University of Hartford, arena football, and the internationally renowned Manchester Road Race. For six years, he also hosted a popular afternoon drive talk show.

In addition to Yard Goats' broadcasts, Lovallo continues to serve as radio "Voice of the Manchester Road Race," broadcasts high school football games on WJMJ radio and hosts a business show, "Front & Center," on WDRC-AM and the Talk of Connecticut radio network. He is also the publisher and editor of two baseball-related websites, and He resides in Torrington, Connecticut with his wife Susan and their dog "Daisy" and cat "Jeter."
