Mike Dunn

Mike Dunn

Mike Dunn joined the Atlanta Braves organization in 1991, working in stadium operations. He also worked for the Greenville Braves before being named general manager of the Macon Braves in 1996. He served dual roles, serving as GM of the Macon club, as well as project manager for construction of the new stadium in Rome, Ga. He relocated with the team in 2003, and remained as general manager at the time of his induction. Dunn was named the South Atlantic League Executive of the Year in 2003 and again in 2008.

John Purdin

John Purdin

John Purdin pitched the only perfect game in Western Carolinas/South Atlantic League history for the Salisbury (N.C.) Dodgers on Aug. 8, 1964. In his 18 starts for Salisbury in 1964, he went 14-3 with a 1.91 ERA, and piled up 182 strikeouts in 137 innings. He went on to pitch for the Los Angeles Dodgers from 1964-65 and 1968-69.

Curt Schilling

Curt Schilling

Curt Schilling played for the Greensboro Hornets in 1987 and led the South Atlantic League in strikeouts with 189 (still a Greensboro club record). He recorded 216 Major League victories in a 20-year career, striking out a total of 3,116 batters while playing for the Orioles, Astros, Phillies, Diamondbacks and Red Sox. He pitched in six (6) All-Star Games and four (4) World Series, helping his team win three titles (Arizona in 2001, and Boston in 2004 and 2007). Curt and his wife, Shonda have been actively involved in support of several charitable causes, including the ALS Association and Aspergers Syndrome.
