2015 Hall of Fame Voting

Vote for three nominees from the final ballot of 13 listed below. The top three nominees with the most points at the end of voting will receive one fan vote each on the Hall of Fame Committee.

The 2015 Hall of Fame class will be announced at the Whitecaps Winter Baseball Banquet in January 2015.

When submitting your three votes, please list them in order with your top choice listed as number one.





Mike Quade - Led the Whitecaps to a 77 - 61 record and their first League Championship in 1996. Went on to coach and manage in the Major Leagues most recently for the Chicago Cubs in 2010 and 2011.

Fernando Rodney - Posted a 6-4 record with a 2.92 ERA and 56 strikeouts for West Michigan in 2000. Currently in his 12th season in MLB. Has pitched for the Tigers, Angels, Rays and is currently with the Mariners, accumulating over 190 saves.

Don Kelly - Hit .286 with 59 RBIs for the Whitecaps in 2002. Has gone on to play in seven Major League seasons and is currently in his 6th season with the Detroit Tigers.

Matt Joyce - Batted .258 with 11 HR, 30 2B and led team with 86 RBI in one season with West Michigan in 2006. Currently in his 6th season with the Tampa Bay Rays after coming up with the Tigers in 2008, and was an All-Star in 2011.

Cameron Maybin - Hit .304 with 9 HR, 69 RBI and 27 stolen bases in his one season with West Michigan, and was chosen to play in 2006 MLB All-Star Futures Game. Led team to 2006 MWL title, and was named MWL Prospect of the Year in 2006. Currently in his 8th Major League season and 3rd with the Padres.

Duane Below - Accumulated a 13-5 record with a 2.97 ERA in 2007, while leading the league in wins and strikeouts (160) and earning a spot on the 2007 MWL All-Star team. Played in the Major Leagues with Tigers and Marlins and is currently playing for Triple-A Toledo. 

Alex Avila - Joined the team after the 2008 draft. Hit .305 and had 22 RBIs in 58 games. Was a 2011 Major League All-Star and is currently in his 6th year with the Detroit Tigers.

Casey Crosby - Blew away the Midwest League in his full-season debut with the 'Caps in 2009. Had a 10-4 record with a 2.41 ERA and 117 strikeouts in 104.2 innings. Made his Major League debut with the Tigers in 2012 and is currently with Triple-A Toledo.

Calvin Chipperfield - Spent the 2000 season with the Whitecaps, amassing a 12-3 record with a 2.13 ERA and 151 strikeouts. Threw a no-hitter against Kane County on June 13, 2000. Spent five years in the Tigers Minor League system, playing as high as Double-A Erie. 

Phil Regan - A native of Ostego, Michigan, spent six seasons with the Tigers from 1960-1965. Began his coaching career as the head coach at Grand Valley State University from 1973-1982, and went on to manage the Whitecaps in 2002.

Juan Tejada - Hit .300 with 106 RBI and 34 doubles during the 2002 season with the Whitecaps. Spent five seasons in the Tigers Minor League system, playing as high as Double-A Erie, before spending three seasons with the Pirates, Mets, and Phillies organizations. 

Gustavo Nunez - Played 112 games for the Whtiecaps in 2009, hitting .315 with 40 RBI and 10 triples. Spent the 2007-2011 seasons with the Tigers, and is currently in the Atlanta Braves organization.

Billy Nowlin - First played for the Whitecaps in 2009, and returned for 46 games during the 2011 season. Hit for a combined .293 average in 158 games in West Michigan with 94 RBI. Finished his professional career in 2012 in the Independent Frontier League.
