Art Solomon

Art Solomon is the President and CEO of DSF Sports, the company that owns the New Hampshire Fisher Cats and the Bowling Green Hot Rods, Class A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, located in Bowling Green, KY.

Under Art's direction, the Fisher Cats were honored with the prestigious 2010 Larry MacPhail Award as the nation's best promotional effort and community involvement. In 2009 the Club won Baseball America's Double-A Bob Freitas Award recognizing the Fisher Cats as the most outstanding franchise at the Double-A level for overall business operation and long-term success.

The Hot Rods have earned special distinction during their first three seasons. The team was voted 'Best of Bowling Green' as the 'Best Place for a Date' and 'Best Place for a Family Outing' in the Bowling Green Daily News' year-end awards. Through three seasons, the Hot Rods have drawn nearly 750,000 fans, setting a new single-season official attendance of 237,070 in 2011.

Only second to his love of family and baseball is Art's commitment to strong and vibrant local communities. Spearheaded by Art and the team, the Fisher Cats Foundation has raised more than $1.84 million for regional non-profit groups, headlined by the annual Granite State Baseball Dinner, an event that generated $155,680.15 for charity in 2011. Earlier in his career, he worked for anti-poverty programs in New Haven, CT, and Washington, D.C. While he was a professor of Economics and Urban Planning at M.I.T, he served as the Executive Director of the Harvard-M.I.T. Joint Center for Urban Studies, a leading think tank on the development of our cities and regions.

Widely regarded as one of the most successful investors, developers, and operators in the United States real estate market, Art holds a B.A. from Brown University, an M.A. from Trinity College, and a Ph.D. from Harvard University.

He is married to Sally Lapides and has three children, two stepchildren, and eight grandchildren.

Rick Brenner President

Rick Brenner

The 2013 season will represent Rick's 20th season in Minor League Baseball, his seventh as President and General Manager of the Fisher Cats and seventh as President of DSF Sports, the parent company for the Fisher Cats and the Bowling Green (KY) Hot Rods, Class A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays.

As an executive of Minor League Baseball, Brenner has led his respective organizations to several prestigious awards, most recently as the winner of the Larry MacPhail Award recognizing the nation's best promotional efforts with the Fisher Cats in 2010. Previous honors include Baseball America's Double-A Bob Freitas Award with the Fisher Cats in 2009 and the 'Best Sporting Event to Take Clients To' in the New Hampshire Business Review's Best of Business Awards for four consecutive seasons. Rick previously led the Trenton Thunder to a pair of notable honors: the John H. Johnson President's Trophy as the nation's best baseball franchise in 2005 and the Larry MacPhail Award in 2003.

His organizational accolades have earned Rick several individual honors. In 2009, he was named Baseball Executive of the year by Ballpark Digest. He has been named Eastern League Executive of the Year twice, including 2008 with the Fisher Cats.

Rick's leadership has developed the Fisher Cats into one of the top drawing teams in the Eastern League. In 2011, the Fisher Cats posted an official attendance that exceeded 373,000 during the regular season, including a single-season record of 21 standing-room only crowds. Including the 2011 Eastern League All-Star game, four playoff home games, and additional non-game day events, more than 420,000 attended Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.

The Hot Rods were voted 'Best of Bowling Green' as the best place for a date and family outing in the Bowling Green Daily News' year-end awards. Bowling Green has drawn nearly half a million fans through two seasons and set a new single- season attendance record with 235,412 fans attending Hot Rods games in 2010.

The Hot Rods have earned special distinction during their first three seasons. The team was voted 'Best of Bowling Green' as the 'Best Place for a Date' and 'Best Place for a Family Outing' in the Bowling Green Daily News' year-end awards. Under Rick's direction both the Fisher Cats and the Hot Rods have developed a strong philanthropic reputation in their respective communities. The Fisher Cats and the Fisher Cats Foundation have raised more than $1.84 million for regional non-profit groups, headlined by the annual Granite State Baseball Dinner, which generated $155,680.15 for charity in 2011. In three seasons, the Hot Rods have already contributed more than $200,000 in cash, goods, and services to charitable organizations in South Central Kentucky.

Rick is an active member in the community and Minor League Baseball. He serves on the boards of the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce as well as boards of the Double-A Eastern League and Class A Midwest League.

Rick, a graduate of Plymouth State University, resides in New Hampshire with his wife, Jenn, and their two children.

Brad Taylor Team President

Brad Taylor

Bowling Green Hot Rods Brad Taylor became the first leader of the new Hot Rods organization in the late summer of 2008. As the team's President he speadheads the corporate partnership, customer relations, and community engagement efforts of the team. Taylor was responsible for hiring the original Hot Rods front office staff and was instrumental in the development of the Hot Rods logo and brand.

Taylor spent the previous nine season working for one of the most successful teams in minor league baseball, the Trenton Thunder- Double A affiliate to the New York Yankees. Taylor was the GM of the team for the 2006, 2007 and 2008 seasons. The Thunder won its first ever league championship in 2007 and then repeated as league champions in 2008. The Thunder is also the only team at the Double A level or below to draw over 400,000 fans per year for 14 consecutive seasons.

In Taylor's nine years with the Thunder he helped the club receive national recognition with two awards from Minor League Baseball. Following the 2005 season, the Thunder was named the Johnson President's Trophy Winner, recognizing the "Complete Baseball Franchise" of the 160 teams in affiliated baseball. The Thunder also won the coveted Larry MacPhail Trophy for Outstanding Club Promotion in 2003.

Under Taylor's guidance the organization was honored with two prestigious awards. The Mercer County Regional Chamber of Commerce recognized the Thunder as the 2007 Distinguished Corporation of The Year, an amazing feat considering the local presence of several Fortune 500 companies. In the fall of 2007 the Thunder's commitment to its local community was highlighted as the Thunder received the Good Neighbor Award at the Trenton Renaissance Ball.

Taylor's contributions to the community have included such things as being a member of the Mercer County Sports and Entertainment Commission Council, serving as a past advisory board member for the Trenton Waterfront 5K for Habitat For Humanity, being a former advisory board member for the Salvation Army and serving as a participant in the Minding Our Business program that teaches area middle school students how to start their own businesses.

Prior to joining the Thunder, Taylor worked for the Cape Fear Crocs (Fayetteville, NC), a Single-A affiliate of the Montreal Expos, from 1996 through 1999 and was their General Manager in 1998 and 1999. During the 1995 season, he made his first stop in Minor League Baseball, serving as Assistant General Manager for the River City Rumblers (Huntington, WV). In 1991, Taylor received a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Randolph-Macon College (Ashland, VA), where he also played baseball for four years as a second baseman, serving as team co-captain his senior year.

Taylor, a native of Fairfax, VA, spends his time outside of baseball enjoying fatherhood, playing softball, golfing, fishing and rooting for the Washington Redskins. Brad's wife is Jennifer and the couple has two sons, Braxton and Parker.

Ryan Gates General Manager

2013 will mark Ryan's third season as General Manager of the Bowling Green Hot Rods.

Ryan just completed two seasons as the General Manager of the Lake Erie Crushers of the Frontier League. Ryan led the startup of the new organization which opened its gates in June of 2009. He oversaw the day to day operations of the team and was heavily involved with sponsorship sales, media planning and community involvement. In the community Ryan sat on the board of the French Creek YMCA as well as the Leadership Committee of the American Heart Association Heart Walk.

Prior to joining the Crushers, Ryan spent five seasons with the West Virginia Power, Class A Affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Ryan spent his final two seasons as the West Virginia Power's General Manager. He joined the Power after completing his MBA in Marketing at the Kelley School of Business - Indiana University. Ryan also worked for three years in a variety of positions with Indiana University Sports Properties, a division of Learfield Sports, located in both Bloomington and Indianapolis, Indiana as well as Dallas, Texas.

Ryan started his career in 1998 with the Erie SeaWolves. During his stay in Erie he rose from an intern to the Director of Sales and Promotions. His start in sports began with an internship with the Florida Citrus Bowl in 1996 where he had the opportunity to work with the qualifying rounds of Olympic Soccer and the NFL.

A native of Boonton, New Jersey, Ryan graduated from Indiana University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing. Ryan enjoys spending time with his wife Jessica and young son, Jack.

Mike Mariano Director of Ticket Sales

Mike Mariano

Michael comes to the Bowling Green Hot Rods in his first year from the Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League. Before joining the Bucks, Mike spent seasons with the 2010-11 CHL President's Cup Champion Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs, where he guided the Mudbugs to an average of 750 fans per night in groups. Mike's main focus with the Mudbugs was selling groups, and season ticket packages. Mike was with the Mudbugs for a total of three years, with a brief exit prior to last season, when he joined the Florida Everblades of the ECHL, before quickly rejoining the Mudbugs at the midway point of last season.

Mike is no stranger to hockey, having played junior hockey as well as a very brief stint in the professional ranks. Mike still holds a number of penalty minute records in the leagues of his home state.

Mike has worked in sports since 2006 starting out as an intern in Minor League Baseball with the Eastern League's New Britain Rock Cats (Minnesota Twins AA Affiliate). Mike was in stadium operations with the Rock Cats, before eventually adding group sales and corporate sales to his responsibilities.

Mike is originally from Berlin, Connecticut graduating from Berlin High School, and then on to the University of Connecticut in 2006.

Atlee McHeffey Creative Services Manager

Atlee McHeffey

Creative Services Manager Atlee McHeffey is in his seventh season in Minor League Baseball, his fifth with the Hot Rods.

Atlee's career in baseball began during the 2007 season, interning for the Binghamton Mets (NY), Double A Affiliate of the New York Mets. While with Binghamton (NY), he assisted in all game day video operations.

From the B-Mets, Atlee would go on to assume the role of Video Marketing Assistant for the Wilmington Blue Rocks (DE), Class A Advanced Affiliate of the Kansas City Royals.

In September 2008, Atlee joined the front office staff of the Bowling Green Hot Rods, assuming the position of Creative Services Manager. The creative services department oversees all video board content, print materials and administration of BGHotRods.com.

McHeffey was born in Gouverneur, NY and attended Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York. There he majored in television production. He resides in Bowling Green, Kentucky with his girlfriend Amanda and their dog Sophie.

Jennifer Johnson Promotions Manager

Jennifer Johnson

Jennifer Johnson is a native of Bowling Green, KY. She is a May 2009 graduate of Western Kentucky University with a degree in Marketing. After interning with the Hot Rods during their inaugural season, she is excited to join the front office staff. Jennifer is an avid sports fan and enjoys cheering on the UK Wildcats and Chicago Cubs. She is looking forward to a great second season with the Hot Rods.

Greg Heroy

Greg Heroy is returning to the Hot Rods staff after spending a few months with the team at the end of the 2011 season. Greg will be coming on full time as an Account Executive and looking forward to making the 2012 season even more successful than last year! In 2010, Greg worked with the Lakewood BlueClaws, the Single 'A' Affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. There he held the role as a Ticket Sales Assistant, selling ticket packages and working in the Box Office. Greg is from Toms River, New Jersey and a college graduate of Rutgers University. Greg is a fan of all sports, with his main teams being the New York Giants, Yankees and of course the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.

Adam Smedberg Account Executive

Adam Smedberg

Adam Smedberg, is from Wilbraham, Massachusetts, and is excited about the upcoming 2013 Hot Rods season! Adam is entering his eighth season working in baseball after spending four seasons working in the ticket sales office with the Eastern League's Trenton Thunder baseball team, and the last year with the AHL's Springfield Falcons hockey team. Adam was a part of the Thunder winning three awards during his time with them including: The 2005 Johnson President's Trophy Winner, The Distinguished Corporation of The Year from The Mercer County Regional Chamber, and the Good Neighbor Award at the Trenton Renaissance Ball.

Adam graduated from the University of Massachusetts in 2003 with a degree in Sport Management. While there he helped to develop the Key Players in Kids Lives Community outreach program and the New Balance Soccerfest tournament. Adam is a New England sports fan enjoying the Red Sox and Patriots.
