Suns in the Community

The Hagerstown Suns are committed to making Hagerstown and the surrounding area a better place through baseball. The team actively works with several charities to assist through donations of tickets, player and mascot appearances and publicity. We're looking forward to an exciting 2017 season - both on and off the field - and are ready to keep enhancing lives through baseball.

Throughout the 2016 season, the Suns donated more than $10,000 in tickets and merchandise to local organizations to help with fundraisers and encourage participation in community programs. In addition, the Suns partnered with the American Red Cross, Breast Cancer Awareness Cumberland Valley, the Maryland Food Bank, the Mitchell Akers Scholarship Fund, Head Start of Washington County, Convoy of Hope, Relay for Life, Donate Life, ALS Association, Bat 4 the Cure, the Curing Retinal Blindness Foundation, Challenger Little League, Miss Washington County, Toys for Tots, the Humane Society of Washington County and The Boys and Girls Club.

In 2016, the Hagerstown Suns continued their determination to make a difference in the community through the auctioning off of our Military Appreciation Jerseys and our Pink Weekend Jerseys. The funds raised during both auctions assisted Folds of Honor and the Breast Cancer Awareness Cumberland Valley with special programs developed to assist individuals within their community.

We also had an event for Knock Blindness Out, benefitting The Curing Retinal Blindness Foundation and Camp Abilities Sports Camp for Blind Children at West Chester University. We also had the local Challeger Little League out to play a baseball game with the Suns.

The Suns are already planning for the 2017 Season. If you would like for us to be a part of your event, please feel free to reach out and let us get involved!
