Notes: Was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame by Veteran's Committee in 1975...In 13 seasons in the Major Leagues, playing for the Cleveland Indians, Detroit Tigers and Boston Braves between 1928 and 1941, Averill had over 2,000 hits, 400 doubles, 100 triples, 200 home runs, 1,000 runs, 1,000 RBI while hitting over .300 and slugging above .500 through 1,669 games...Six-time All-Star in the Major Leagues...Led the PCL in runs scored in 1928 with 178...Member of two PCL Champions: the 1928 San Francisco Seals and 1941 Seattle Rainiers...Nickname was "Rock".
