Randy and Jenny Boyd

Jenny and Randy are big baseball fans not just for the sport but also for how it brings communities together. Randy has been to 45 major league ballparks and Jenny is catching up with him! They are committed to making baseball a great family fun experience for our community for generations to come and look forward to making continuous improvements in the ballpark and the fan experience.

Jenny Boyd is the owner and operator of Boyd's Jig and Reel in the Old City of downtown Knoxville. The Jig and Reel is a musical Scottish pub dedicated to preserving and promoting our musical heritage. Jenny plays the fiddle and mandolin in the Celtic band "The Good Thymes Ceilidh Band." She is a member of the Old City Association and serves on the boards of The Tennessee Theater, the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra, the Museum of Appalachia, and the East Tennessee Historical Society. She was formerly a member of the board Young-Williams Animal Center. She is also a proud Tennessee Smokies fan!

Randy Boyd is the founder and Chairman of Radio Systems Corporation which he started in 1991 out of the back of his van. Radio Systems is headquartered in Knoxville and has over 700 associates with offices in six countries. The company produces over 4,600 pet products under brand names such as Invisible Fence, PetSafe, and SportDOG.

Twice in the last four years Randy has answered the call to serve his state - first in 2013 taking a leave of absence from his company to serve Governor Bill Haslam in a volunteer role as his Special Advisor on Higher Education. He was the architect of the Drive to 55 and the Tennessee Promise. The Tennessee Promise provides free tuition and fees for community college and technical schools and all supported by volunteer mentors.

From 2015 - 2017 Randy served as Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development. He led the department's mission of developing strategies which help make Tennessee the No. 1 location in the Southeast for high quality jobs. In his tenure, companies committed more than $11 billion in capital investment and committed to create 50,000 jobs. Randy is currently running to serve as the State of Tennessee's 50th Governor

Jenny and Randy Boyd support many animal welfare projects, such as developing a new Animal Adoption Center in Knoxville that will more than double the city's annual capacity for spay and neuter procedures. They have committed $3 million over the next three years to build nearly 100 dog parks around the State of Tennessee as part of an effort to make their state the most pet friendly in the nation. Radio Systems has provided the funds to create nine public dog parks in the Knoxville area as an effort to make Knoxville the most pet friendly community in America while Invisible Fence Brand has donated over 20,000 dog oxygen masks to Fire Department around the United States as part of its "Project Breathe".

Jenny and Randy were married 33 years ago at Erin Presbyterian, where they still worship today. They live in Knoxville and have two sons, Thomas and Harrison, one daughter-in-law Lindsey, one granddaughter, Wiley Mae, and two dogs, Oscar and Jolene.

Doug Kirchhofer


Doug Kirchhofer

In his 16th season with the Smokies, and 3rd with the Johnson City Cardinals, Doug Kirchhofer has been a major player in the minor league sports industry for the past 25 years. Kirchhofer has "hands-on" experience in minor league franchise development and sports facility management as well as a finance background.

Kirchhofer came to the Smokies from Cincinnati, where he served as President and CEO of Cincinnati Entertainment Associates, Ltd. He oversaw the private acquisition and $16 million renovation of Riverfront Coliseum, transforming the aging downtown building into the Firstar Center (now US Bank Arena). He served as President and CEO of the Cincinnati Cyclones professional ice hockey team from 1990-2001 and also as General Manager of the club from 1990-96.

Kirchhofer got his start in professional sports in 1989 as part of the group that formed and operated the Nashville Knights of the East Coast Hockey League. Later in the '90s, Kirchhofer became part owner of the Birmingham Bulls, an offshoot of the Cincinnati franchise. During his years in Cincinnati, he also was involved with teams in minor league basketball and professional indoor soccer.

Kirchhofer's ties to Tennessee date to time spent as Vice President/Finance for Concoal Management Company in Knoxville from 1981-94. During that span he also sat on the Board of Directors at First Heritage National Bank in Loudon. Prior to working with Concoal, he was a manager in the tax department of a public accounting firm in Atlanta, a job he held after earning a Master's Degree in Accountancy from the University of Illinois. Kirchhofer graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University with a B.S. in Business Administration.

Doug and his wife Lana have made their home in East Tennessee, at least during the "offseason," since 1981. They have two grown children, Kristi and Kyle, and four grandsons, Jay, Tanner, Drew and Evan. Doug and Lana both have served as board members of the Christian Academy of Knoxville, and Doug served a term as president of that Board of Directors. Doug was a member of the 2003 class of Leadership Sevier, the 2006 class of East Tennessee Regional Leadership and the 2007 class of Leadership Knoxville. He currently serves as chairman of the Advisory and Finance Committee for the Southern League. Doug also is proud to serve as a 2016 "pink tie guy" for Komen Knoxville bringing awareness to the battle to defeat breast cancer.

Chris Allen

Chris Allen

Chris Allen is the President of Boyd Sports and is entering his third season with the Cardinals and sixth with the Tennessee Smokies Baseball team. Chris received his B.S. In Sports Management from Liberty University, and brings over a decade of professional sports management experience.

Prior to joining the organization, Chris worked for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs, South Coast League, Salem Avalanche, Wilson Tobs and Chillicothe Paints. While working for the Tobs, Chris also spent four years working with the NCAA directing regional baseball tournaments.

In addition to his baseball career, Chris' business interests include majority ownership of Sayin' it Loud, a transit advertising agency serving Baltimore, Md. and metro Washington D.C. Chris and his Wife, Elisa, also own a Furniture and Design Studio in Lynchburg, Va.

In the past 15 years Chris has served on numerous Boards, including the North Carolina Baseball Museum, Greater Baden Medical Services, Maryland Tourism Advisory Board, and Madison Heights Dixie Youth Baseball. Chris currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of East Tennessee and Junior Achievement of East Tennessee.

Chris and Elisa reside in Dandridge, Tennessee with their four children Casey (16), Chase (12), Carolina (8), and Charley (2).

Jeremy Boler Vice President

Jeremy is in his third season with the Johnson City Cardinals and fifth season with the Tennessee Smokies, third as Vice President of Boyd Sports after previously serving as Assistant General Manager and Director of Corporate Sales of the Smokies. Jeremy is also in his second season as the Vice President for Boyd Sports, and sister franchise the Johnson City Cardinals. Prior to joining the Smokies Jeremy spent three years as the General Manager of the Forest City Owls in the Coastal Plain League. As the General Manager Jeremy oversaw every aspect of the franchise. Under his leadership the Owls were ranked in the top 11 in the nation in overall attendance each of his three years. Prior to Joining the Owls he served as the Corporate Marketing Manager for the Winston-Salem Dash and helped build corporate ticket packages for businesses. He received his B.A. from Gardner-Webb University, in Boiling Springs, NC. with a degree in Business Administration. A North Carolina native, he resides in Knoxville, Tennessee with his wife, Adrienne and daughter, Brynn.

Zac Clark General Manager

Zac Clark

Zac enters his second season as the General Manager of the Johnson City Cardinals. Prior to coming back to Johnson City, Zac was the Sponsorship Services Manager for the Asheville Tourists. Previously, Zac spent three years as the Assistant General Manager for the Johnson City Cardinals and has worked with other organizations such the Detroit Pistons, Special Olympics Michigan, and Disney's Wide World of Sports. Zac is a graduate of both Central Michigan University and East Tennessee State University we he earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Sport Management respectively. Zac is from Dansville, Michigan where he grew up an avid Detroit sports fan. If he isn't at TVA Credit Union Ballpark there is a good chance Zac is spending time with his family and friends, listening to live music, or attending live sporting events. Zac also serves on the United Way board, Convention and Visitors Bureau Council, and the Young Professionals of the Tri-Cities board.

Carter Koontz Sponsorship Services and Outside Events Coordinator

Carter Koontz

Carter is entering her second season with the Johnson City Cardinals, and first year as the Sponsorship Services and Events Coordinator. Carter spent her first season with the Cardinals as the Marketing and Promotions Intern. Carter graduated from Campbell University as a student-athlete with a degree in Marketing, and now attends East Tennessee State University to pursue a Masters in Sport Management. The Maryland native was a member of the Campbell University Women's Lacrosse team. In her spare time, Carter enjoys attending sporting events, traveling, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.

Brandon Bouschart Ticket Sales Account Executive

Brandon Bouschart

Brandon is entering his second season with the Johnson City Cardinals, his first as a Graduate Assistant and Ticket Sales Account Executive. Brandon began his work with the Cardinals as a Ticket Sales Intern during the 2018 season. Previously, Brandon earned his bachelor's degree in Sport Management from East Tennessee State University, and is currently pursuing his master's degree in Sport Management from ETSU. Brandon is originally from Alabama, but moved to Tennessee roughly 20 years ago. Brandon is a fan of all sports, with deep ties to Alabama football, the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, and Chicago Blackhawks. In his free time, Brandon loves watching sports, playing golf, and being outdoors.
