"Peanut Free" Days

For five dates, the Spinners are taking the peanuts away from the ballgame. For each and every Sunday home game at LeLacheur Park, PLUS the Spinners' matinee game July 29, the team will eliminate the sale of all peanut products from the ballpark, from traditional peanuts to Chik-Fil-A sandwiches which are made using peanut oil.

"We have always been conscious of food allergies and the dangers associated with these allergies," said Spinners President and General Manager Tim Bawmann. "We've moved away from peanut products wherever possible, from our oil to our ice cream flavors and these five nights just take that philosophy to another level."

LeLacheur Park, which is power washed after each and every game, is given a thorough walk through prior to each Peanut Free Night to ensure no stray shells or skins are in the seating bowl.

"We recognize the danger that comes with a peanut allergy," said Bawmann. "Each year since we implemented the program in 2009, we've taken new steps to promote a clean and safe environment for all. The outpouring of support from families who are now able to take their children to a baseball game has made these games a truly moving experience."

Peanut Allergies can be a life-long allergy and affect approximately two percent of the population according to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America.

"We are thrilled to be able to offer the opportunity for all fans to come to the ballpark," said Bawmann. "Food allergies affect an alarming number of families across the world. Hopefully this allows families an additional opportunity to have an affordable entertainment option." Click for a full list of games and promotions: SCHEDULE
