Strike Out Cancer

Strike Out Cancer
Cancer is something that impacts almost everyone in the U.S. It is hard to find someone who hasn't had a family member, neighbor or coworker that has not battled cancer. Experts predict a 14 percent increase in new cancer cases in North Carolina from 2012 to 2017 and a 21 percent increase in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area during that same time.

For the fourth season, the Durham Bulls are sponsoring "Strike Out Cancer", a program to raise funds to support cancer research at the Duke Cancer Institute. For each strikeout that a Durham Bulls pitcher records during home games this season, a donation will be made to the Duke Cancer Institute for cancer research.

How can you help? We invite you to be a partner as we work to Strike Out Cancer by making your own gift to the Duke Cancer Fund at Thank you in advance for your partnership in the battle against cancer!
