The century-long Yankees-Red Sox rivalry will extend to Empire State and Pawtucket once again at Frontier Field when the two teams square off Friday in Game 3 of their first-round series of the International League playoffs. Game time is 7:05 p.m. and gates open at 6:00 p.m. Game 4, if necessary, would be Saturday at 7:05 p.m. at Frontier Field, and Game 5, if necessary, would be Sunday at 6:05 p.m. at Frontier Field.

All games will feature special promotions and rivalry food specials at concession stands. Tickets for Game 3 of the Empire State Yankees vs. Pawtucket Red Sox first-round playoff series on Friday, September 7 at Frontier Field are now on sale.

Fans are encouraged to wear their Yankees and Red Sox gear for both games. Those in attendance with their Yankees and Red Sox clothing will have a chance to be randomly selected to participate in special promotions including being a ballboy/ballgirl for an inning, reading the starting lineups on the public address system from the field prior to the games, and serving as a public address announcer for an inning from the press box.

Prior to Game 3, Rochester native and Yankees farmhand Cito Culver will sign autographs from 6:00 - 6:50 p.m. in the Red Wings Hall of Fame. He is a 2010 graduate of Irondequoit High School and a first-round draft pick of the Yankees. The 20-year-old has spent the 2012 season with Charleston of the Single-A South Atlantic League. There will also be a fireworks show following Game 3.

Tickets are currently on sale for only Game 3. Should a Game 4 be necessary, tickets will go on sale either the morning of Friday, September 7 or Saturday, September 8, whenever the game is first guaranteed. Should a Game 5 be necessary, tickets will go on sale the morning of Sunday, September 9. All possible Empire State Yankees' post-season home games in 2012 will be played in Rochester. The Yankees played 38 regular-season home games at Frontier Field in 2012 while their home of PNC Field in Moosic, Pennsylvania undergoes a season-long renovation.
