Baysox Booster Club

"Evening, folks! We're the Baysox Boosters...."

You may have seen us around the ballpark since 1998, selling raffle tickets in the stands or giving a player the Ben Wolman Spirit and Courage Award on the field before a game.

We find host families to house players and give each player a travel bag (complete with a pillow and a blanket!) for their bus rides around the Eastern League.

Booster Club members who help cook Sunday dinner for the team also get to sit down and eat a meal with Baysox players and coaches.

We're always looking for fans of the Baysox who would like to be more involved with the team and assist the Baysox Booster Club with some of the many things they do for the "Boys of Summer" in Bowie.

Hosting Baysox Players

Did you know that you could host a Baysox player in your home?

Many players look for a host family with whom to reside during the season. The players enjoy meeting local residents and living in a home. Families get an inside look at the life of a professional Minor League Baseball player.

One long-time host family recently talked about how much they have enjoyed hosting players over the years. They have attended weddings, college graduations, and watched as players made it to the "Big Leagues."

The Booster Club maintains a list of local families and homeowners interested in hosting a player or players during the baseball season. Host families are needed throughout the season as players move in and out of Bowie.

If you are interested and would like more information, please contact Baysox Assistant General Manager Phil Wrye [Email Phil Wrye] or call 301-605-6000.
