2013 SPRING SEMESTER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

The New Britain Rock Cats, the Eastern League AA affiliates of the Minnesota Twins, are looking for enthusiastic and creative individuals for our internship program.

This internship program prepares the participant for a career in Sports Management. The program is designed primarily for students in their Junior and Senior years of college.

The Rock Cats internship program offers college students and aspiring sports executives an opportunity to acquire credits and learn the business of Minor League Baseball. The experience provides valuable exposure to many areas of the operation:
* Event marketing, promotions, ticket sales, market research, merchandising/retail operations, facility management, media and community relations, and ticket operations.  

Time Period: Spring Semester - January thru May 1.

Schedule: Participants will work in the office/community 2-3 days per week, obtaining a valuable understanding of what goes on behind the scenes.  Interns will also work select Rock Cats home games in April, providing a real life experience in customer service and event management.  

Qualifications: An interest in pursing a career in sports management or event marketing.  We are in search of highly motivated and dedicated individuals.



ROCK CATS 2013 SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

The New Britain Rock Cats, the Eastern League AA affiliates of the Minnesota Twins, are looking for enthusiastic and creative individuals for our internship program. The Rock Cats are the #1 professional sports team in Connecticut and one of Minor League Baseball's fastest growing franchises. The team plays at New Britain Stadium located in Central Connecticut.

This internship program prepares the participant for a career in Sports Management. Our program is designed primarily for students in their Junior and Senior years of college.

The Rock Cats internship program offers college students and aspiring sports executives an opportunity to acquire credits and learn the business of Minor League Baseball. The internship experience provides valuable exposure to all areas of the operation:

Community Relations/Marketing - Gain experience in 'grass-roots marketing' and community relations events.

Event Marketing - Interns will work with marketing the team by assisting in promotions, ticket sales, market research, and media relations. Interns will gain experience first-hand, by having the opportunity to plan, promote, and execute their own promotional night.

Event Operations - An opportunity to experience managing a professional sporting event by working with stadium staff in event preparation for all home games, in ticket operations and retail operations, and servicing Rock Cats fans with the highest possible standards as a member of the game day event team. During home games, the interns will also help execute our popular in-game promotions, contests and special events.

Schedule: Participants will assist in the Rock Cats Front Office and at community events three days per week. Interns will also work select Rock Cats home games, providing a real life experience in customer service and event management.

Qualifications: An interest in pursing a career in sports management or event marketing. Only highly motivated and dedicated individuals should apply.

Time Period: May 1st - August.
