Assistant Box Office Manager
One of the longest-tenured employees in Hooks' history, Austin joined the team in May 2004 and enters his third season as the club's Assistant Box Office Manager. The team hired him as its first part-time employee and just its seventh overall. In his 10 years with the Hooks, Austin has worked at Hook, Line & Sinker and in the ticket office.
A native of Corpus Christi, he graduated from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi with a degree in business administration in 2011, working for the Hooks all the way through school.
Austin's favorite game at Whataburger Field was the Hooks' title-clinching game in 2006 over the Wichita Wranglers, the city's first Texas League championship since 1958. Infielder Ben Zobrist and catcher Danny Fatheree rank among Austin's favorite players to work with.
He is a member of the Corpus Christi Mustangs, a group of local businessmen that BBQs for area charities. Since the group's inception it has raised more than five million dollars.
Though he has spent countless hours at Whataburger Field over the years, away from the ballpark Austin still finds time to root for the Colorado Avalanche, to play golf and to groom his now four-and-a-half year old beard.
