< - - Back to Employment Page

The Quad Cities River Bandits annually hire a full staff of assistants for a comprehensive experience in the operations of a minor league baseball organization. All assistants will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in all aspects of a professional sports organization.

Assistant jobs are full-time commitments, beginning in mid-January (open positions will start as soon as possible once filled) and concluding at the end of September at the conclusion of the River Bandits season (the special events assistant position is an exception). Non-game day hours will be from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the possibility of evenings or weekends for River Bandits Player or Mascot appearances, or the promotion of the River Bandits at various community events in the surrounding Quad City area. On game days, hours will be from 9:00 a.m. until approximately one hour or more after the game, sometimes as late as, or later than 11:00 p.m. Assistants will be required to work up to 80 hours in one week during the River Bandits season. Assistants must be available to work full-time including nights, weekends, and some holidays.

All assistants will be required to help in various duties throughout the season including, but not limited to: distributing pocket schedules and other promotional material throughout the Quad Cities area; helping put on and take off the tarp before, during, and after games when necessary; being the mascot for games and appearances; assisting in all areas (assembling packets, performing at school assemblies, etc.) of the River Bandits Book Buddies reading program.

The River Bandits will review the progress of each assistant throughout the season in an effort to cover their strengths, goals, areas of improvement, and overall progress throughout the assistant job program.

The River Bandits are looking for candidates that have the ability to work well under pressure and the ability to work well with others. Candidates must be outgoing, motivated, organized, and personable. Candidates should be open to working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

The River Bandits are currently accepting resumes, cover letters, and other information that you find to be appropriate to submit to be included for consideration for an assistant position for the River Bandits 2017 season. Interviews will be conducted starting in October and be filled on a rolling basis. This page only lists descriptions of open positions. Please, no phone calls or emails in regard to the status of your resume. We will contact all interested candidates for either a phone or in-person interview or a letter.
