Sous Chef    


Start Date: Feburary 2018 (flexible based on availability)


At the Montgomery Biscuits, we believe that food should be a reason fans come to the ballpark. With that in mind, we depend on the kitchen staff to lead the effort to create and produce fresh, consistent, high-quality food. The Sous Chef will be responsible for the cooking and delivery of food for the entire catering operation at Riverwalk Stadium. 


The Sous Chef candidate will report to the Executive Chef and will be expected to help direct a kitchen crew of 10 to 12 hourly staff members. This positions will require a candidate with both cooking and management skills to be able to provide food for all catering venues within a short period of time. This position will also require someone with excellent time management and organizational skills.


This is a seasonal position, starting in February, 2018 and running through the end of the season in September, 2018. This person will be required to work a full-time schedule that includes regular office hours, all Montgomery Biscuits home games and any other events held at Riverwalk Stadium pertaining to food service. This schedule varies and includes nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Providing the overall leadership for entire kitchen staff and culinary team
• Maintaining equipment to food service standards, also responsible for equipment maintenance when applicable
• Ensuring food delivery timelines are met to suites, venues and concession levels throughout the ballpark
• Maintaining proper sanitation standards
• Working directly with the Executive Chef in regards to scheduling and helping meet labor control

• Working directly with the Executive Chef to ensure food costs standards are met



• Prior experience in food service, restaurants and catering venue(s)
• General knowledge of commercial food service equipment
• Culinary knowledge and skills (knives, processes, presentation, etc.)
• Excellent people management skills and ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to relocate to Montgomery, AL

• Commensurate with experience; Includes comp time earned throughout season
