Who We Are
The Tri-City ValleyCats are a Minor League Baseball franchise located in the heart of New York's Capital Region. In 2015 the ValleyCats wrapped up their 14th season, averaging 4,269 fans per game, which is 95% to stadium capacity! In 2016, the ValleyCats will celebrate their 15th anniversary season while also welcoming in a milestone 2-millionth fan through the gates! A short season Class-A affiliate of the Houston Astros, the ValleyCats compete in the New York-Penn League. The league consists of 14 teams, including affiliates of the Mets, Yankees, Red Sox,
Orioles, Phillies, Nationals, Indians, Pirates, Rays, Marlins, Cardinals, Tigers, and Athletics.
With a mission to create fans for life by providing an experience that's affordable, fun, and entertaining while in a safe and clean environment, baseball is just a piece of the lure. The ValleyCats attract a diverse fan base to "The Joe" by creating 38 unique theme nights, designed to keep every ballgame exciting and memorable. In 2014, fans were treated to 14 extravagant fireworks displays, tons of giveaways highlighted by a bobblehead and desktop replica championship ring, along with a five-part poster series, glow sticks, t-shirts, a world record attempt, and more.
The ValleyCats' season spans the summer months of mid June to early September, and consists of 76 games - 38 of which take place at the 'Cats home ballpark, Joseph L. Bruno Stadium.
Built in 2002, and located on the campus of Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, "The Joe" features 4,500 fixed seats, 10 luxury suites, four unique picnic areas, a wide open-air concourse, and two grass berm seating areas.
