Sky Sox 2014 Internships
NON-SALES INTERNSHIPS: The Sky Sox have FOUR groundskeeping internship positions available for the 2014 season. All will begin on Monday, February 3rd and conclude Friday, September 12th.
COMPENSATION FOR SKY SOX INTERNS IS AS FOLLOWS: THE SKY SOX WILL PROVIDE FURNISHED HOUSING FOR THE DURATION OF THE INTERNSHIP, ALL UTILITIES AND A MONTHLY STIPEND.
EXPECTATIONS: The Sky Sox expect that interns consider themselves a part of our staff. Within Minor League Baseball, the front office staff performs duties at all levels of management, sales and maintenance. Everyone working in Minor League Baseball wears many different "hats," and a willingness to go above and beyond one's normal duties is expected. The Sky Sox offer the opportunity to learn the business of baseball from the ground up and we expect our interns to embrace this opportunity. Along those lines, sales are a major part of the business of baseball and therefore our internship program. Dedication to the sales process and learning how to sell is a major part of the program.

Four Positions Available
The Sky Sox Groundskeeping Internship is designed to develop all skills needed to maintain a professional baseball field. To include but not limited to; (mowing, mound and plate repair, dragging, seeding, fertilization, top dressing, sprinkler systems), etc. The internship will also include maintenance of (plumbing, electrical, construction, painting, welding), of all onsite buildings and grounds areas. Interns will work closely with the head groundskeeper to maintain the entire facility at all times.
All applicants must posses a valid driver's license. A strong desire to work on a team that strives for excellence. The willingness to work as an individual but also is a part of a team first environment.
Ability to work long non-traditional hours. (10-18 hr days as well as nights, weekends and holidays) Ability to lift heavy objects and be on your feet for sustained hours at a time. Ability to be a strong leader and a good listener. Possess strong "start to finish" mentality with solid organizational skills which pay attention to detail. Ability to "think on your feet" and work well under pressure.
