Rocky Vonachen President

Rocky Vonachen

Vonachen has served as the Chiefs President since 1996 when he succeeded his father Pete Vonachen. Prior to the promotion to President and General Manager, Rocky was the Assistant General Manager and worked in a variety of positions with the Chiefs dating back to 1984.

As the team President, Vonachen and his staff have been recognized with the Midwest League's John H. Johnson President's Award twice and have earned the Larry MacPhail Promotion Award nomination from the MWL in two of the past eight seasons.

Vonachen oversaw the Chiefs' transition to downtown Peoria with the opening of then O'Brien Field in 2002. Under his leadership the Chiefs have set a new franchise attendance mark four times in 2002, 2005, 2007 and 2008. The top six single-season attendance marks have come under his time as President as have 24 of the top 25 single-game attendance marks. Vonachen was also instrumental in securing two Peoria Chiefs home games at historic Wrigley Field in Chicago during the 2008 and 2010 seasons. Rocky also worked closely with the Peoria Area Convention and Visitors Bureau to secure the IHSA Boys Baseball 1A & 2A Championships at Dozer Park. He has twice been named the Chicago Pitch & Hit Club's Minor League Executive of the Year.

Rocky graduated from Bergen High School in Peoria before attending the University of New Orleans on a baseball scholarship. He later transferred to Lincoln College and then received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Bradley University in 1981. A father of three daughters, Vonachen currently resides in Peoria.


Jason Mott General Manager

 

Jason Mott

Jason enters 2018 as his second season as General Manager and 4th season with the club overall. He was voted the 2017 Midwest League Executive of the Year in his 1st season as GM. He helps with the day to day operations of the organization and the stadium. He handles the Corporate Sponsorships and Suite Leases for the Chiefs and Dozer Park and oversees the daily activity of the Ticket Sales Department, dealing with premium seating, group, and season ticket opportunities. Jason loves being involved in the Peoria community both personally and professionally and is currently on the board of the Peoria Friendship House, a member of the Peoria North Rotary and a Bradley Braves basketball season ticket holder.

Prior to joining the Peoria Chiefs, Jason started his sports career with the Nashville Predators (NHL) in January 2002 in their Inside Sales Department selling season tickets and group outings. That November, Jason was promoted to an Account Executive for Ticket Sales and continued selling season tickets and groups in addition to premium seating. He was promoted to Sr. Account Executive in 2007 and took on a leadership role assisting in the hiring and training of the Inside Sales Department.

In 2009, Jason joined the Saint Louis Athletica (WPS) as the Sr. Director of Ticket Sales overseeing all aspects of the Ticket Sales Department. During his stint with the Athletica, Jason helped in the planning and execution of hosting the WPS All Star game in St. Louis in 2009.

Jason joined the Redbirds in November of 2009 as Ticket Sales Manager. He oversaw the daily activity of the Ticket Sales Department, dealing with premium seating, group, and season ticket opportunities at AutoZone Park. He helped turn around a struggling organization revenue wise in his 5 years in Memphis, which led to the St. Louis Cardinals purchasing the team in March 2014.

Jason a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan and holds his degree in Sports Management from Southeast Missouri State University. Jason lives in Washington with his beautiful wife Kristen and their sons Carter and Kellen. When not working, he enjoys family time, working out/running, coaching his son Carter's youth teams, hanging out with friends, collecting sports memorabilia, and attending sporting events.

Jason's most memorable sports moments winning the OVC Tournament in 2000 and going to the Big Dance with the basketball team at Southeast Missouri State and attending the last two clinching games of the Cardinals' 2006 and 2011 World Series Championships. He is still in search of his first championship in his professional career and hopes to add that to his most memorable sports moments in 2018.

Kate Voss Ticket Sales Manager

Kate Voss

Kate is excited to begin her fourth season with the Peoria Chiefs. She is responsible for maximizing revenue through the sale of ticket packages including season tickets, partial plans, group tickets, and individual game tickets at Dozer Park. The 2018 season will be her second season as the Ticket Sales Manger, where she will oversee the Inside Sales Department.

Kate began her MiLB career in 2011 with the Clinton LumberKings (Single A Affiliate of the Seattle Mariners) as an intern before quickly being promoted to the Director of Promotions for the 2012 season. Baseball then took her to Memphis for the 2013-2014 seasons, where she was a Ticket Sales Executive for the Redbirds (Triple A Affiliate of the St Louis Cardinals). While in Memphis, she prioritized her time by selling season tickets and group events for various companies and niche groups.

The Henry IL native, graduated from Ashford University with a degree in Sports and Recreational Management in the Spring of 2012. While at Ashford, she was a four year Academic All American as a part of the women's basketball and softball teams. Away from the ballpark, Kate loves spending time with her family and friends, listening to music and supporting The Fighting Irish of Notre Dame.


Kyle Belback Ticket Sales Executive

Kyle Belback

Kyle is a Detroit native who is entering his first season working with the Peoria Chiefs. His focus will be selling various group outing packages, prospecting new clients, and providing excellent customer service for the Chiefs this season.

Kyle attended Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio. He graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sport Management, and minors in Business Administration, Finance, and Marketing. Prior to joining the Chiefs staff this year, Kyle had a front office internship with the Columbus Clippers in 2015, when the Clippers won their 10th league championship.

Kyle is very easy-going, and loves hanging out with his friends in his free time. He loves playing video games, watching movies, watching TV shows, participating in fantasy sports leagues, and playing sports in his free time. He cheers for the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Pistons, New England Patriots, and University of Michigan sports teams.


Kevin Kurowski Ticket Sales Executive

Kevin Kurowski

Kevin is from Spring Grove Illinois and is entering his first season with the Chiefs as an inside sales representative. He spends his time in the office by selling ticket packages including season tickets, partial plans, group tickets, and individual game tickets at Dozer Park.

Kevin attended Augustana College where he played baseball and studied marketing and management. During his senior year he was with the Quad City Mallards hockey team (ECHL) as a front office and game day intern.

In Kevin's free time he enjoys to cheer on the Chicago Bears, Blackhawks and Cubs. Kevin enjoys spending time with his friends and also playing hockey and baseball.


John Phelps Ticket Sales Executive

John Phelps

John joined the Chiefs staff in January 2017 as an ISR. He is responsible for selling season tickets, partial plans, group tickets and building relationships with his clients.

John comes from Rapid City, SD and is a graduate from St. Cloud State University with a degree in Recreation and Sports Management. Before joining the Chiefs John worked for the Independent baseball Sioux Falls Canaries and with the SCSU Athletic Department as a Marketing and Promotions Assistant. Additionally, John has served as a media relations volunteer for the NCHC Frozen Faceoff in Minneapolis, MN.

In John's spare time he enjoys golfing and playing hockey. He cheers for the Minnesota Vikings, Gophers, Timberwolves, and the Colorado Avalanche.

Ryan Sivori Box Office Manager

Ryan Sivori

Ryan Sivori enters his 19th season with the Chiefs in 2018. Prior to graduating from Indiana State University, the Huntingburg, IN native was an intern with the Dubois County Dragons in the summer of 1999. Ryan began his career with the Chiefs in January of 2000 before joining the front office staff full-time in October of that year.

Ryan and his wife Stephanie have four children. When not at the ballpark, Ryan serves as the Athletic Director at St. Joseph School in Pekin, helps coach boys basketball at St. Joseph, or is probably attending a school activity or kids sporting event. Ryan enjoys running, spending time with family and just relaxing at home.

Allison Rhoades Creative Services Manager

Rachel Gudeman

Allison joined the Chiefs in January 2015 after previously working for the Pacific Coast League's Memphis Redbirds for 9 seasons.

She is responsible for overseeing the Chiefs' graphic design (print, social media, videoboard, newsletters, website) and social media efforts, as well as co-managing content of the team's website. During Chiefs home games you will most likely find her on the field taking pictures.

Allison is originally from Riverton, IL, and she graduated from Bradley University with a Bachelor's Degree in Art.

She is a huge sports fan, and loves to cheer on her St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Blues and Chicago Bears.


Patrick Walker Director of Entertainment & Community Relations

Rachel Gudeman

Joined the Peoria Chiefs in 2015 after spending the 2014 season with the Bowling Green Hot Rods as the Merchandise & Community Relations Assistant. Vandalia, MO native with a Bachelors from Drury University in Sports Management in 2010 and a Masters from Boise State University in Exercise and Sports Studies in 2013.

Served as an assistant baseball coach from Van-Far High School, while creating the first Van-Far Alumni Baseball Game in 2011. Avid baseball fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and getting to work with their affiliate is a very exciting part of my career.

Most memorable sports moments, attending four walk-off wins during the Cardinal Season in 2005. Being put in a District Title game in the 6th inning down 2 as a freshman in high school with the bases loaded and no one out and was able to get out of the jam without a run scored. Throwing a no-hitter in high school as a freshman.

Justin Uy Executive Chef

Rachel Gudeman

This will be Chef Justin's first year with Peoria Chiefs as the Executive Chef. Originally from the Philadelphia area, he graduated from Penn State in 2014 and has been with PSC ever since.

While at Penn State, Justin got his feet wet in Minor League baseball by volunteering with the State College Spikes for his organization. Shortly after he graduated, he took a Sous Chef position with the Dayton Dragons, and remained with them for 2 seasons before coming to the Chiefs.

Justin is excited to be a part of the Chiefs and cannot wait to get the 2016 season underway!
