 Flying Squirrels Charities Mission Statement

The Purpose: To Partner and connect the Flying Squirrels Brand with the Greater Richmond Community in an effort to optimize results from fun and versatile fundraising campaigns to benefit the Richmond community. The Initial focus of Flying Squirrels Charities has been deemed "Renovating Richmond's Recreation" an impactful community project designed to renovate 14 Richmond City youth baseball facilities. Renovating Richmod's Recreation is intended to create safe, community-minded spaces that are dedicated to Richmond's youth. The Phases and Goals of "Renovating Richmond's Recreation"


Phase 1 ($150,000) - Build 28 dugouts on 14 designated baseball fields in Richmond
Phase 2 ($175,000) - Improve these same playing fields
Phase 3 ($200,000) - Develop Henderson Complex into a Little League Complex including the concessions building
Phase 4 ($225,000) - Recover and renovate unused fields as demands dictate



Each renovation begins with the construction of dugouts in conjunction with Barton Malow, Richmond Raceway Cares and Henrico County Vocational Technical Schools.

Raises over $15,000 annually

Raises over $30,000 annually

Jersey Auctions 

Raises over 3,000 annually

Field of Dreams Festival

Raises over $10,000 annually

Coats for Kids

Helps hundreds of kids without proper winter coasts

Nutyz's Funn Run & 5K 

Raises over $10,000 annually 



The Flying Squirrels were nominated for the 2017 John H. Johnson President's Award, in part due to the work of Flying squirrels Charities. The President's Award, Minor League Baseball's top award, is presented annually to honor the complete baseball franchise -- based on franchise stability, contributions to league stability, contributions to baseball in the community, and promotion of the baseball industry.
