Ballpark Entertainment Assistant Seasonal Hourly

The Ballpark Entertainment Assistant is a seasonal, part-time position that will serve to aid the efforts of the Director of Ballpark Entertainment within the Marketing Department of the Round Rock Express. The hourly-paid position will run from March-September. Candidate can expect to work in an office setting during the day and in the control room and throughout the ballpark during games. This position will work up to 39.5 hours per week, depending on the Express home schedule. A minimum of 10 hours a week can be expected when the team is on the road and there are no events at the ballpark. Report times may change each week in order to accommodate working all Express games.

Responsibilities

  • Edit and update daily graphics used on various stadium LED boards and digital displays
  • Shoot and edit video for various projects as assigned
  • Learn and operate various gameday positions in the control room
  • Fulfill all video requests from fans, internal departments and PCL/MiLB
  • Assist with on-field promotions and in-game entertainment as needed
  • Work various special events at Dell Diamond (soccer, rugby, high school baseball, concerts, corporate events, etc.)
  • Complete other miscellaneous projects as needed by immediate supervisor and other front office staff

Qualifications

  • Ideal candidate is recent college graduate with degree in electronic media, video production or related field; undergraduates will be considered if class schedule is flexible

  • Must be willing to work early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays (as necessary)

Event Staff - Fun Zone Seasonal Part-Time

This is a year-round seasonal position to provide our guests exceptional customer service in the kid's Fun Zone area. Exhibit a friendly and approachable attitude. Events include but not limited to baseball games, concerts, festivals and other events in and on stadium property.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a high level of customer service to fans and sponsors;
  • Work alongside operations staff to maintain daily cleanliness and readiness of stadium;
  • Greet guests with excellent customer service while ensuring their kid's safety;
  • Assist with guest concerns that may arise;
  • Guide guests to exits or provide other instructions or assistance in case of emergency;
  • Maintain order and ensure adherence to safety rules and fan code of conduct;
  • Provide assistance with guests' special needs (ie, wheelchairs, breast-feeding locations, etc.);
  • Assist with lost articles or for parents of lost children;
  • Control liquor boundaries and access points throughout facility;

Graphic Design Assistant Seasonal Hourly

The Graphic Design Assistant is a seasonal, part-time position (20-25 hours per week) that will serve to aid the efforts of the Graphic Designer within the Marketing Department of the Round Rock Express. The hourly-paid position will run from February-September. Candidate can expect to spend time in the office during business hours.

Responsibilities

  • Update daily promotions, theme nights, and gameday graphics for social media, videoboard, marquee, Snapchat and more
  • Redesign digital lineup board graphics that are displayed for every home game
  • Update weekly Railyard Team Store promotional social media graphics
  • Create, print and laminate parking passes and discount cards for players, coaches and family, various fliers, staff badges and more as needed
  • Create and replace promotional posters in the ballpark before every homestand
  • Design social media graphics, flyers, handouts and other miscellaneous graphics throughout the season as needed
  • Complete other miscellaneous projects as instructed by management

Promo Team Seasonal Hourly

The Express Promo Team is a seasonal, part-time position that serves to promote an exciting and unique atmosphere at Round Rock Express games and in the community. This hourly-paid position runs from February -September with the opportunity to work community events through the end of 2018. Promo Team members must be energetic, spontaneous and outgoing individuals - people who are not easily embarrassed and who can bring upbeat excitement every day during our 70-game season in the Texas summer heat.

Need Not Apply If...

  • You are uncomfortable in front of a camera, on a mic or dancing in front of a crowd
  • You need nights, weekends, holidays and your birthday off

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an ambassador for the Express both at games and at events in the community
  • Ensure proper execution of Express events and promotional game day elements
  • Provide a high level of customer service to fans, Season Ticket Members and sponsors
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all things Express (tickets, promos, events, history, etc.)
  • Work with adults and children to ensure a fun, safe experience at Dell Diamond and at events
  • Perform as mascot and handler for community events in rotation with fellow team members
  • Participate in gameday setup including securing props, distributing giveaway items and staffing check-ins

*PLEASE NOTE: There will not be a minimum guarantee of hours per week for this position and schedules may vary, however, schedules will not exceed 39.5 hours per week. Scheduling will be done as far in advance as possible and hours will be determined based on the baseball schedule, member availability and community events.

RS3 Sports Service - Multiple positions Part-Time

RS3 Sports Service, LLC is now hiring for banquet servers and captain, bartenders, houseman and food expediters for Dell Diamond United Heritage Center location.

Please review the following requirements:

  • Previous catering experience with high volume setting is preferred

RS3 Turf Seasonal Intern Seasonal Hourly

The Round Rock Express are seeking individuals for the RS3 Turf internship program for the 2018 season. The Express are the Triple-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers Baseball Club. Located 20 miles north of Austin, Round Rock is known as the Sports Capital of Texas. The Express will host 70 home games as well as numerous extras events, such as the UIL Texas State Baseball Championships. Other potential events include soccer games and concerts. Dell Diamond's surface is composed of TifTuf Bermuda grass and DuraEdge infield skin. This is a seasonal internship that runs from May through September, but these dates are flexible with the individual's school schedule.

Responsibilities

This position will expose interns to all aspects of maintenance on a professional athletic facility. Interns will learn cultural practices of mowing, verticutting, aerating, sweeping and topdressing as well as how to calibrate spreaders and sprayers and apply fertilizers. Interns will perform daily tasks of infield dirt management and clay repair on home plate and pitchers mounds. Interns will experience firsthand the conversion of a baseball field to a soccer or rugby field, with paint layout for each sport.

Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in or recently graduated from a two to four-year turf program from an accredited university
  • Must have a good attitude and willing to work alongside the Express grounds crew
  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs. throughout the day
  • Must be able to stand for hours at a time in all types of weather conditions
  • Must be able to work weekends, nights, and holidays

Compensation: This is a part-time, seasonal position with a stipend of $1,800 per month at 48 hours per week. Overtime opportunities are available. Uniform is provided and includes a hat, shirts, game shirts, and jacket.

Full-Time Positions

Manager, Stadium Operations/Maintenance Full-Time, Hourly

As an integral part of the overall success of the Round Rock Express and its incremental business, this position is responsible for carrying-out the day to day maintenance for all aspects of the stadium. This position is responsible for assisting in the planning, budgeting, and implementation of special projects during the off-season. During baseball season this position will have a flexible schedule to work a few games each home stand and be responsible as the main point of contact for any operations related calls.

Responsibilities

  • Represents the organization with the utmost professionalism in the community;
  • Advisor to senior management on all budget, planning, and implementation of off-season special projects;
  • Responsible for all aspects of stadium maintenance year-round;
  • Develops and implements creative solutions in response to issues that arise within the stadium;
  • Works closely with all departments to address any maintenance issues and assign priority to correcting the issues;
  • Ensures pyrotechnics are set for games, and secured when not in use;
  • Maintains, cleans and repairs large, commercial swimming pool;
  • Responsible for ensuring stadium security by locking gates each day;
  • Serves as main point of contact for all operations related calls during games, when necessary;
  • Other organizational duties as assigned

Additional Duties

  • Some carpentry/welding/maintenance experience preferred, preferably in a sports or event-driven related industry
