Ballpark Entertainment Assistant Seasonal Hourly

The Ballpark Entertainment Assistant is a seasonal, part-time position that will serve to aid the efforts of the Director of Ballpark Entertainment within the Marketing Department of the Round Rock Express. The hourly-paid position will run from March-September. Candidate can expect to work in an office setting during the day and in the control room and throughout the ballpark during games. This position will work up to 39.5 hours per week, depending on the Express home schedule. A minimum of 10 hours a week can be expected when the team is on the road and there are no events at the ballpark. Report times may change each week in order to accommodate working all Express games.

Responsibilities

  • Edit and update daily graphics used on various stadium LED boards and digital displays
  • Shoot and edit video for various projects as assigned
  • Learn and operate various gameday positions in the control room
  • Fulfill all video requests from fans, internal departments and PCL/MiLB
  • Assist with on-field promotions and in-game entertainment as needed
  • Work various special events at Dell Diamond (soccer, rugby, high school baseball, concerts, corporate events, etc.)
  • Complete other miscellaneous projects as needed by immediate supervisor and other front office staff

Qualifications

  • Ideal candidate is recent college graduate with degree in electronic media, video production or related field; undergraduates will be considered if class schedule is flexible

  • Must be willing to work early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays (as necessary)
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Premier and Photoshop a must; other programs such as Adobe After Effects, Illustrator and Audition a plus

Community Outreach Assistant Seasonal Hourly

The Community Outreach Assistant is a seasonal, part-time internship that will serve to aid the efforts of Community Relations and Grassroots Marketing within the Marketing Department of the Round Rock Express. The hourly-paid position will run from February-September. Candidate can expect to work in an office setting for the majority of their time with the team, but may be asked to work games as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assume responsibility for a number of community initiatives, including K9 Valentine, Salute to Our Heroes, Swing for Success, Triple Play Rally and more
  • Conceptualize, plan, construct/design and distribute media delivery packages to all outlets
  • Represent the Express in the community by delivering marketing collateral to local businesses
  • Assist with the booking, coordination and execution of community events and appearances
  • Participate in gameday setup including decorating for theme nights, securing props, printing materials, distributing giveaway items, staffing check-ins, etc.
  • Correspond daily with community leaders, nonprofit organizations, schools, special guests, sponsors, vendors and others both via email and by phone
  • Help plan and execute fundraising initiatives, including specialty jersey auctions
  • Develop and implement creative concepts for theme nights, events and promotions
  • Lead ballpark tours; train other staff on tour procedures and talking points
  • Conduct various marketing research projects and compile reports on findings
  • Give input and demonstrate forward thinking as a contributing member of the department
  • Staff events outside of normal hours as needed, including FanFest, Express games, etc.
  • Complete other miscellaneous projects as instructed by management; may include tasks such as cutting flyers, laminating, data entry, etc.

Graphic Design Assistant Seasonal Hourly

The Graphic Design Assistant is a seasonal, part-time position (20-25 hours per week) that will serve to aid the efforts of the Graphic Designer within the Marketing Department of the Round Rock Express. The hourly-paid position will run from February-September. Candidate can expect to spend time in the office during business hours.

Responsibilities

  • Update daily promotions, theme nights, and gameday graphics for social media, videoboard, marquee, Snapchat and more
  • Redesign digital lineup board graphics that are displayed for every home game
  • Update weekly Railyard Team Store promotional social media graphics
  • Create, print and laminate parking passes and discount cards for players, coaches and family, various fliers, staff badges and more as needed
  • Create and replace promotional posters in the ballpark before every homestand
  • Design social media graphics, flyers, handouts and other miscellaneous graphics throughout the season as needed
  • Complete other miscellaneous projects as instructed by management

Green Team Staff Seasonal Hourly

This is a year-round seasonal position (with opportunities starting in March) to provide our guests exceptional customer service by maintaining the cleanliness of the facility and restrooms. Exhibit a friendly and approachable attitude. Events include but not limited to baseball games, concerts, festivals and other events in and on stadium property.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a high level of customer service to fans and sponsors
  • Greet guests with excellent customer service while maintaining cleanliness of the stadium and restrooms
  • Assist with guest concerns that may arise
  • Guide guests to exits or provide other instructions or assistance in case of emergency
  • Maintain order and ensure adherence to safety rules and fan code of conduct
  • Provide assistance with guests' special needs (ie, wheelchairs, breast-feeding locations, etc.)
  • Assist with lost articles or for parents of lost children
  • Control liquor boundaries and access points throughout facility

Promo Team Seasonal Hourly

The Express Promo Team is a seasonal, part-time position that serves to promote an exciting and unique atmosphere at Round Rock Express games and in the community. This hourly-paid position runs from February -September with the opportunity to work community events through the end of 2018. Promo Team members must be energetic, spontaneous and outgoing individuals - people who are not easily embarrassed and who can bring upbeat excitement every day during our 70-game season in the Texas summer heat.

RS3 Sports Service, LLC is now hiring for banquet servers and captain, bartenders, houseman and food expediters for Dell Diamond United Heritage Center location.

Please review the following requirements:

  • Previous catering experience with high volume setting is preferred

Assistant Turf Manager - RS3 Turf - University of Houston Full Time  

Ryan Sanders Sports Turf Services (RS3 Turf) is looking for an Assistant Turf Manager to help maintain the intramural and athletic fields located at the University of Houston. All natural fields are Bermuda grass with the exception of the Baseball and Football fields being synthetic. A two or four year degree in turfgrass management is preferred and experience is required. Candidate must be willing to work in adverse conditions, sometimes long hours and attend certain athletic events.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Over-seeing the maintenance of some common areas

  • Mowing/edging
  • Fertilizing/Cultural Practices

Construction Superintendent - Turf - RS3 Turf Full Time  

Ryan Sanders Sports Services (RS3 Turf) is a sports field specialty construction and maintenance contractor that handles all phases of natural and synthetic turf jobs for professional, collegiate, municipal, and high school facilities, from excavation and sub base through installation and maintenance. Located in Round Rock, TX, we are one of the state's most trusted resources for providing superior quality of natural grass and synthetic turf sports fields. As an integral part of the overall success of the Sports Turf Services division and company as a whole, this position is wholly responsible for new build, and renovation of sports field surfaces, stadiums and complexes. The Construction Superintendent is a hands-on leader who understands the complexities of of our industry and must be someone who enjoys working with their hands as well as their mind, who likes to work outdoors, has the leadership skills to organize and run projects on-site as well report the results to senior leadership. The superintendent is a team player who can build a loyal crew for the company

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Under leadership of Sr. Director, Operations & Maintenance, directly responsible for new build, and renovation of sports field surfaces, facilities, stadiums and complexes;
  • Organizes, supervise, schedule, and plan of multiple construction projects;
  • Negotiates construction contracts and establishes construction project objectives;
  • Insure building code compliance, permitting, and advise management of revisions that may be necessary;
  • Monitors plan development and specifications for cost effectiveness;
  • Coordinate all Architect and Engineer designs; review both Architects and Engineers design for adequate details of good quality and conduct design review meetings;
  • Renders professional advice, opinions, assistance and services as needed or directed;
  • Participates in all master-planning meetings;
  • Keeps accurate and complete records on payroll, inventory, and other business data;
  • Plans maintenance and project work to achieve the agreed-upon maintenance standards and master plan to comply with ADA requirements, and oversees the training, scheduling and deploying of personnel to accomplish the work in compliance with OSHA and Worker Right-to-Know standards;
  • Develops and implements plans to reduce impacts on the environment including recycling, storm water management, waste management and erosion control;
  •  
  • Approves all expenditures and exercises cost control measures to keep operating and capital expenses in line with the approved budgets;

Qualifications:

  • Accredited degree from a two-year or four-year in horticulture, agronomy or related field helpful;
  • Full understanding of the sports' governing bodies' requirements for field layout and accommodation requirements;
  • A proven record in sports field construction estimating and management as well as tenant coordination;
  • Experience in costs, takeoffs, bid analysis;
  • Exceptional equipment operating skills with a CDL license;
  • Familiarity with sports field construction/design to include horizontal (site) and vertical construction management experience;
  • Ability to read site plans, ideally with some engineering background;
  • A working knowledge of sports field or facility construction principles, practices and methods;
  • Knowledge of current federal, state and local laws and regulations affecting the management and operations of sports fields and facilities (including, but not limited to employment, safety and environmental standards, laws and regulations);
  • Active participation in continuing education opportunities such as seminars, workshops, web-based training courses, field days and trade shows;
  • Ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter with the aptitude to take full ownership the position's duties and deliverables;
  • A commitment to high quality work, attention to detail, and can evidence company loyalty.
