Shelby Nelson Director of Florida Operations

Shelby Nelson

Shelby enters his 16th year in the Blue Jays organization, and his ninth as Director of Florida Operations. Shelby joined the Toronto Blue Jays in 2001 as an Account Executive. In 2003, he was promoted to Manager of Product Development, and eventually became the Manager of Group Sales. In 2007, Shelby was named Director of Retail Sales before joining the Dunedin Blue Jays as GM in 2008.

He studied Sports Management at York University in Toronto, Canada, and currently resides in Palm Harbor, Florida with his wife and three children.

Mike Liberatore General Manager

Mike Liberatore

Mike is beginning his 6th full season with the Blue Jays and his first as General Manager after joining the staff in 2011 as Manager of Corporate Sales and Service.

He is originally from Rochester, NY prior to his family relocating to Port Charlotte, FL. Mike played collegiate baseball locally at St. Petersburg College and later at Embry-Riddle University, where he graduated in 2003.

In his spare time, Mike enjoys kayaking, fishing, and following the Buffalo Bills and Sabres.

Finance and Accounting

Gayle Gentry Accounting Manager

Gayle Gentry

Gayle Gentry joined the staff in March 2011 as the Accounting Manager. She is originally from Danville, Illinois and a graduate of Southern Illinois University. She and her Husband, Harry, have been in Florida for 15 years and enjoy the weather year round.

When Gayle is not cheering for the Blue Jays, she is trying to keep track of what their 8 grandchildren are up to. Her hobbies are baking for staff (thanks Gayle!), raising orchids and knitting.

Community Relations

Kathi Beckman Manager, Retail Sales and Community Relations

Kathi Beckman

Kathi begins her 10th season with the Dunedin Blue Jays. She joined the team in 2006 as an Account Executive and was promoted to Manager of Group and Retail Sales, Community Relations in 2009.


Kathi is originally from Clarkson, Michigan and attended Michigan State University. She resides in Clearwater with her husband Ryan, daughter Reese and lovable yellow lab, Zoe. Pay her a visit at the Jays Shop this season!

Box Office

Jacqueline Purcell Manager, Ticket and Box Office Operations

Jacqueline Purcell

Jacqueline joined the Blue Jays staff in the fall of 2017 as the Manager of Ticket and Box Office Promotions. She is originally from Port Huron, Michigan but moved here from Phoenix, Arizona where she worked for Salt River Fields at Talking Stick and most recently the Arizona Coyotes. Previously her other roles included Mobile Marketing for the Ali Sports Dew Tour and Guest Service Manager for Barrett-Jackson Classic Car Auctions.

Jacqueline resides in Palm Harbor and when she is not out exploring her new area, she can be found running (January will be her 30th Half Marathon and 8th Full), playing trivia, or watching movies.

Sales and Promotions

Kelsey McIntosh Manager, Corporate and Group Sales

Kelsey McIntosh

Kelsey joined the Blue Jays in June 2015 as the Manager of Sales and Promotions. She is originally from Fairfax, Virginia and attended the University of South Carolina (Go Gamecocks!). Aside from the Blue Jays and the Gamecocks, her favorite sports team is the Washington Redskins. She played softball for 16 years, and still reminisces about her perfect game.

Kelsey resides in St. Petersburg and enjoys checking out local restaurants, cooking, traveling (25 countries and counting!), going to the beach and spending time with friends. She will beat anyone in F.R.I.E.N.D.S trivia, as she has seen every episode at least 17 times.

Zac Phelps Supervisor, Stadium Operations

Zac Phelps

Zac joined the Blue Jays in January of 2010. He grew up in Lawrenceville, GA and currently resides in New Port Richey with his wife and two children.

When Zac isn't installing new seats, pressure-washing the concourse, remodeling the bullpen, putting up billboards or raising First Half North Division Championship banners at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium, you can find him under the hood of a car. Or several. Zac is the proud owner of (at least) two Ford Mustangs, and he enjoys listening to "The Bobby Bones Show" during his morning commute.

For reasons undetermined, Zac simultaneously supports the Boston Bruins and Dallas Cowboys.

Michelle Smith Administrative Assistant

Michelle Smith

Michelle is in her seventh full season with the Blue Jays, joining the organization in October 2010 as an Administrative Assistant.

She is from the Midwest, born and raised in Waterloo, Iowa and moved to Rice Lake, WI as a teen. She currently lives in Clearwater, Florida and has one daughter.

In her spare time, Michelle enjoys traveling, deep sea fishing, boating and anything that has to do with the water! When Florida's occasionally rainy climate forces her to stay inside, Michelle can't resist a few episodes her favorite shows: TMZ, Impractical Jokers, and Cheaters, which apparently all exist. If the Blue Jays offered an award for "Diligence in Front Office Recycling," Michelle would be a five-time reigning champion.


Allasyn Lieneck Coordinator, Graphic Design

Allasyn Lieneck

Allasyn began working with the Blue Jays in January of 2017. Her background in baseball includes two summers with the Bourne Braves of the Cape Cod Baseball League and an internship with the Harrisburg Senators. Allasyn is one of few Florida natives that grew up here in Pinellas County. She attended Nichols College (Dudley, MA) and Florida Southern College (Lakeland, FL) where she obtained degrees in Sports Management and Communications all while playing 4 years of softball. Since graduating, Allasyn has had the opportunity to play ball internationally, take numerous cross country road trips, catch up on playing video games and adopt a Siberian husky named Ezekiel.

Daniel Venn Coordinator, Media Relations

Daniel Venn

Daniel joined the Blue Jays in January 2017 from Nicaragua where he had been serving as an English teacher and coach for baseball and softball players through the non-profit Helping Kids Round First.

An avid writer, Daniel has written two books about his travels in baseball, both playing and coaching internationally. Before pursuing a career in professional baseball, he taught internationally in Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Peru, and Samoa.

Griffin Gowdey Coordinator, Spring Training

Griffin Gowdey

Griffin joins the Blue Jays for the 2018 Spring Training season from Perfect Game USA Baseball where he worked as a Scout/Field Manager. He holds a Master's Degree in Sport Management from Florida State University and is a native Floridian. While at Florida State, he served as an adjunct professor in the Department of Sport Management and worked as an Educational Services Assistant. While in college, he volunteered with Go Foster!, Inc. to help increase awareness and support for the needs of foster children in the Florida area.

Matthew Woak Coordinator, Spring Training

Matthew Woak

Matthew Woak joins the Blue Jays office staff after serving as the team's in-game emcee during the 2017 season. Matthew was awarded with the prestigious "Highest Energy and Microphone Volume" and "Outstanding Creativity In Catchphrases" awards for his unceasingly entertaining performances during Blue Jays games throughout the 2017 season.

It's Josh's eighteenth day. He's brushing up on Canadian music. He particularly likes The Tragically Hip.
