Chihuahuas in the Community

The El Paso Chihuahuas are committed to making a difference in the El Paso community both on and off the field. While winning is an obvious goal, making a mark on fans, both young and old, is just as important.

Members of the Chihuahuas, including players, coaches and front office staff, are out and about in the community as much as possible throughout the year interacting with fans in a myriad of activities, including:

·         Baseball clinics

·         Hospital visits

·         School visits

·         Reading programs

·         Mentor programs

Salvation Army Deboning Turkeys- Volunteered to help prepare a large Thanksgiving dinner put on by the Salvation Army.

Fort Bliss Welcome Home- Entertained friends and family of soldiers while waiting for their plane to arrive. As soon as they got in, Chico helped create a grand entrance!

Operation H.O.P.E.- Helped distribute turkeys and large boxes of food to families in need right before Thanksgiving.

El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank- Spent the day processing food donations and helping the food bank with anything they needed.

Salvation Army Bell Ringing- Raised money at four different bell ringing stations to benefit the Salvation Army.

Paws for Presents- Collected toys for the Child Crisis Center of El Paso. We donated over 1,000 toys!
