Internship Program

The Hartford Yard Goats Class AA affiliate of the Colorado Rockies are seeking hard working, goal oriented individuals for the 2017 season. This internship requires a great amount of commitment throughout the baseball season. The Hartford Yard Goats Internship program will provide a great opportunity for interns looking to immerse themselves in a full service sports and entertainment venue. The Yard Goats are looking for dedicated individuals who are enthusiastic and possess skills to handle day-to-day operational tasks and create a positive, fun-filled environment for our fans, staff and sponsors.

The Hartford Yard Goats Baseball Internship is a great learning experience. Upperclassman and recent college graduates have the opportunity to get directly involved and gain hands on experience in various aspects of Minor League Baseball including marketing, sales, ticket operations, customer service, public relations, graphic design and many other aspects of the sports industry. The associates work directly with the front office staff to get an overview of all of the different positions. The Hartford Yard Goats internship is a paid position. The associates work a maximum of 40 hours per week based on our game schedule. All associates will be paid CT State minimum wage during the program. We have internships starting in January and May. We do not offer a housing option so all candidates should live within the surrounding area of Hartford, CT. All of our associates work through the end of the season (late August or early September) or until they return to college. This internship is a great start for people interested in pursuing a career in sports or the entertainment industry. We are looking for seasonal associates in group ticket sales, operations, production, graphic design and marketing.Below are the requirements and responsibilities.

Front Office Associate

The front office associates will encompass all aspects related to the marketing and production of a season of baseball. You will gain experience in the following departments; stadium operations, marketing, media relations, ticket sales/operation, production, community relations & mascot operations. Position will start in both January and May and continue through the end of the season. The extended duration of this program will give the students a realistic sense of what it takes to make it all happen!

Experience Required

All college majors are welcomed, but Sports Management and Sports Marketing experience is a plus. Some of our associates work for college credit while others participate for the experience alone. We prefer that our interns have at least completed their Freshman and Sophomore year of college or in the case of our associate positions that begin in January, students that are Seniors that have a limited course load, or recent graduates looking for some immediate experience. We look forward to working with people that have a true sense of fun and are ready for anything!
