Yard Goats Professional Development Program

The Hartford Yard Goats Class AA affiliate of the Colorado Rockies are seeking hard working, goal oriented individuals for the 2018 season. Our success is measured by the consistent delivery of a fun and entertaining experience to our fans, the community and our players. We depend upon the efforts of many associates to make our organization successful.

The Hartford Yard Goats Professional Development Program will provide a great opportunity for individuals looking to immerse themselves in a full service sports and entertainment venue. The Yard Goats are looking for dedicated individuals who are enthusiastic and possess skills to handle day-to-day operational tasks and create a positive, fun-filled environment for our fans, staff and sponsors.

This opportunity is an optimal way to get your foot in the door and learn about Minor League Baseball. You will gain hands on experience in various aspects of the industry including marketing, sales, ticket operations, customer service, public relations and graphic design, to name a few. The successful candidates will work directly with front office staff to get an overview of all of the different positions and you will also be able to have Q&A's with various members of the senior management team. Candidates with a keen interest in sports or the entertainment industry might find this most useful!

The Hartford Yard Goats Professional Development Program is a paid position. You will work a maximum of 40 hours per week base on our game schedule. Your participation would be expected until the end of our season (end of August/early September) or until you return to college. We will have a cohort beginning in January 2018 and then one beginning in May 2018.

Application deadline is December 1st, 2017.

You will interact with fans, sponsors, and in some or all of the following areas:

• Tickets - you will assist with game day sales and coordinating tickets for sponsor nights and group sales.

• Stadium operations - you may assist with facility maintenance, grounds keeping, cleaning and various other chores that keep our setting in tip top condition.

• Promotions & marketing - you may assist with contest coordination, between inning contests, coordinating sponsor nights, player and mascot appearances, and game day activities.

• Pre-game assignments - preparing the game day activities for all home games and working various tables.

• Game Pictures & Video - you may be responsible for taking game and candid pictures or video of the team and our fans.

• Website & Social Media management - you may assist with development of team and player information on a daily basis to keep our sites current. This may involve stats, photographs, video, blog entries or just general information.
