2018 GreenJackets Internship Fair

The GreenJackets Internship experience primary objective is to provide participants comprehensive practical and educational experiences that will allow them to gain exposure to the multifaceted business of MiLB. If you are interested in a fun internship that provides valuable experience in the sports industry, this may be the opportunity for you. The GreenJackets are the Single "A" affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. The 2018 season marks the Inaugural season at SRP Park and the 30th season of baseball in the CSRA. 

Internship Fair Details:

When: Wednesday, January 3rd 

Where: Lake Olmstead Stadium (78 Milledge Rd. Augusta, GA 30904)

Times: 5PM-7PM

  • (The GreenJackets will be more than happy to accommodate times earlier, please contact the department supervisor and schedule a time block if the 5PM-7PM time block does not work)

Internship Positions Available (4 available):

Season Seats/Group Sales (2 Positions Available)

Overview:

As a Sales Intern you will learn to actually produce ticket revenue by prospecting and obtaining season seat and group ticket accounts. You will learn to sell new business to decision makers within local businesses and non-profit organizations, primarily by phone and through outside sales appointments. You will also learn all fulfillment elements as it relates.

Responsibilities:

*Learn the art of heavy relationship-building with prospective and current clients in order to meet sales goals.

* Learn ticket sales process

* Learn why/ when/ how to make cold calls to companies and individuals

* Assist with marketing and promotional campaigns for ticket sales department

* Assist ticket department with season ticket holder mailings/database

* Assist with the daily operations of the GreenJackets ticket sales department

* Help create and maintain ticket sales databases and spreadsheets

* Help research/prospect and generate new sales leads

* Provide excellent customer service to all guest

* Assist the sales staff with all ticket promotions

This is a credited internship only that will offer a $450 living expenses stipend a month and we will also pay you 4% on any commission you may sell and collect as well as housing is free!

Qualifications:

Full training will be provided. We are seeking applicants that are excellent communicators, detail-orientated, team players, confident, ambitious, dedicated, diligent, computer savvy, and have a general knowledge of sports, and want to be in sales as a career.

This internship MAY lead to a FULL TIME OPPORTUNITY FOR THE RIGHT CANDIDATE. YOU WILL RECEIVE FULL TRAINING SIMILIAR TO A CLASSROOM SETTING.

Community Relations/Marketing/Promtions (1 Position Available)

Overview:

The GreenJackets are looking for a hardworking, dedicated, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and talented person to work within and help grow our team. Candidates must be creative, enthusiastic, and outgoing individuals that truly enjoy having FUN! A strong marketing/communications background required. Must be willing to cooperate and work well with all other areas of the organization. Interns will learn to work cooperatively in a busy and deadline driven environment while enjoying the excitement of working within a professional sports organization.

Responsibilities:

* Strong Communications/Marketing background required

* Knowledge of Microsoft based programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required

* Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, and In-Design

* Strong knowledge of social media and using it as a marketing tool is required. Social media outlets most used by the GreenJackets are Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.

* Knowledge of baseball is a plus

* Awareness of current events with the ability to relate to marketing

* Creativity and innovation is a must

Objectives:  

* Coordinate community appearances with the mascot and players

* Assist with the preparation and execution of Community Relations projects and programs

* To promote the GreenJackets through various outlets

* Assist with creating content for the Playball, GreenJackets gameday publication

* Assist with different graphics work (flyers, projects, publications)

* Willing to learn the ins and outs of the GreenJackets website

* To learn, understand and perform all tasks surrounding marketing for the GreenJackets

* Responsibilities could also require the use of equipment at an offsite location

* Help prepare and coordinate in-game promotions

* Make sure all promotional materials and props for in-game promotions are in place before game time

* Responsible for sponsorship activation photos

* Organize, log, and maintain photo archive daily

* Fulfill, package and ship donation requests

* Wearing the mascot costume as needed when out in the community

* Makes sales calls (as requested)

* Must be willing to work all positions or perform any other task when asked by any full-time staff

Qualifications:

We require: May or December to be COLLEGE GRAD. We are seeking applicants that are excellent communicators, detail-orientated, team players, confident, ambitious, dedicated, diligent, computer savvy, and have a general knowledge of sports, and want to be in Community Relations/Marketing/Promotions as a career.

Food and Beverage (1 Position Available)

Overview:

As a successful Food & Beverage Intern, your main responsibility is to learn the ins and outs on how to run a successful food and beverage operation for a MiLB team.

Responsibilities:

As our Food & Beverage Intern, you will report to the Director and Manager of Food & Beverage and assist in the following tasks:

* Schedule and track seasonal employees, including hours worked, and assist in training of seasonal staff.

* Maintain the policies of the stadium in regards to customer service and other ballpark issues

* Support the Director and Manager of Food & Beverage with game day tasks

* Receive and store all food and beverage & retail inventory; complete monthly inventory of all food & retail items as well as rotating stock

* Overseeing F&B operations including management and cleanliness of food and beverage areas, coordination of private parties and inventory control

* Manage and maintain daily cost of sales

* Monitor food quality to ensure it stays within company standards

* Maintain solid/appropriate relationships with vendors and service agencies

* Prepare required paperwork, record keeping, and reports

* Perform periodic competitive price comparisons with local competition

* Ensure completion of work responsibilities and special projects in accordance with the designated timeframe

* Provide staff with feedback, ideas, and suggestions on a timely basis

This is a stipend internship of $400 a month as we offer housing for free, and we will gladly work with you and your school to provide college credit for your internship experience if needed!

Qualifications:

We require: May or December to be COLLEGE GRAD Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point

Terrific energy and a positive, "can-do" attitude Strong organizational skills Self- motivation and ability to take initiative. Previous experience a PLUS!!!!
