Grainger Stadium

Minor League Baseball is back at Grainger.

The ballpark, built in 1949, hosted the Kinston Indians from 1986-2011 and will again be home to a Carolina League club beginning in 2017.

Grainger Stadium is named after Jessie Willis Grainger, who donated money and land to the city for the ballpark. It currently hosts the "Freedom Classic," the annual baseball series between the Air Force Academy and the Naval Academy.

The stadium will feature a new turf grass field for the 2017 season, replacing an 18-year-old playing surface, and the venue will also get upgrades to its lighting, parking lot, grandstand and outfield walls.
